Hmm how do I explain how I'm feeling....

Every time I venture out to a different forum, they all suck in comparison. Dumb extra rules, people taking offense easily, a whole separate blog for people to gossip about other members on. Toxic I think is a fitting description. I'm not going to name the sites, but the ages tend to be 16-mid twenties. With the odd 30 year old. Immature and judgmental. Other's profiles are usually filled with numerous things that they think are wrong with themselves, not holding back for the sake of others. Calling themselves "trash" right on their profiles :0

I get the feeling that it's not 100% a joke and it doesn't make me feel good to read.

I hope this has more to do with a particular genre. And not a reflection of the generation. I understand being somewhat absorbed into your own problems when things are horrible. But it's almost as if they seek out and are excited about sharing what an awful time they're having. And they all influence each other.

I recently decided to rejoin one. I don't normally share things like this, but I started getting anxiety again from it 8O
I've decided to sell some art and leave.

Has anyone else been on sites like this? Or do I just keep finding them?
----------------------------------------
With that being said. I feel bad bringing up such toxicity on here.
I know people may disagree but it seems pretty no-nonsense here. I think it has to do with a more mature community. I'm very comfortable and share more than anywhere else. If someone has an opinion it's not to be taken personally, when people are offended it's usually reasonable. Heavenly.

I'm thankful for this forum and similar forums, and the older members. I've not seen one thing that's truly bothered me. To be around people who in a way, don't give a crap anymore, is relaxing. I'm glad to be exposed to maturity and I want to be more like y'all.

"I'm glad to be exposed to maturity and I want to be more like y'all."

After making the thread, I did some exploring. Immediately read many comments of people talking about their genitals. During that time I was thinking, do I really mean what I said? lol.

But I appreciate the goofy-ness.

I feel like I need to do a better job at navigating this website.

I generally stay off social media. It is not my cup of tea. I have my own website which I began building almost a couple decades ago. It is gigantic and now so large it is hard to maintain. I posted on a gastric bypass surgery website for a few years. I just tried to help people. Wrong Planet is the second message board I've posted on. And again I am just trying to help others.

I really liked your post about the introvert and extrovert relationship. It reminded me of my parents, except they don't seem to handle it well. So it's nice to read an example of that working through two people being considerate. I didn't know that was possible.

I also generally stay off of it. It's getting weird. Humans aren't meant to have it. It's a cup 'o poison. From what I've seen anyway :)
