I had wings that I fashioned from feathers and wax. I was advised not to do so, but I thought I knew better, as is my wont; I flew too high, too quickly, and I touched the sun; then the wax in my wings melted. I am now plummeting back to earth; when I land, I will die. I can see it coming, but there is nothing I can do. But, 'tis a small matter; there's really nothing I want to do about it anway; I will simply close my eyes, wait for an abrupt stop, enjoy the feel of the air rushing past me in the mean time, and smile for reasons only I will ever understand.

Irulan Corrin is a character from the Dune books series. I'm not a fan of this series, in fact I can't guess why those books have so many fans - once I borrowed the first book of the series from library and it was one of only several cases when I gave back a borrowed novel that I hadn't read - it was so boring. I like only God Emperor of Dune because of Leto But I very liked Irulan's name.

Mine came from frustration. Years back when I started on the net evertime I registered for anything I always got the message "User name already "taken". Over and over and over till one day I accepted that my user name was already "Taken".

I was using random letters from my real name with the old one. Asperity means harshness of temper.

Cyneth is an adaptation of SYNE(s)TH(esia), spelled with a yellow 'C' to go with the 'Y' (both yellow). I thought it sounds and looks rather nice. Not too long I'll make an avatar that shows what it looks like to me.

My name is sort of a play on the band named "We are Scientists." I don't know why, but I like that name. Also, like my tagline says, I'm an analytic philosopher, and we think what we do is part of or continuous with science.

Ronin is derived from the Japanese phrase Rurouni, meaning wandering or master-less samurai.
And because I spend so much time using electronics and around the internet... I am the Digital Ronin
I spend a lot of time trying to correct wrongs, and prevent cyber-crime, to... I just feel that's appropriate for the name
