I've had dreams where I've been a guy. Sometimes that's not even the focus of the dream, for instance I had one where I was a male ghost and the fact that I was a ghost stood out to me more than the gender switch. Whereas in others there was more focus on the difference in gender.

There have been a few where I've swapped between male and female to suit the situation. I can frequently control my dreams if I'm aware that I'm in one. Which comes in handy if I want to suddenly alter my dream to make things more interesting. However, I do like to let my subconscious play out the scene and only change a few factors whilst the overarching plot plays out.

For those of you who said yes to the thread topic, I have a some questions. I'll write my responses to them as well.

Q: Do you often remember your dreams?

Quote:
A: I don't always, but usually yes.

Q: Have you noticed any changes to your personality in dreams where you are the opposite sex?

Quote:
A: Sometimes in these dreams I'm still me, except for the gender swap. However, in others I'm a completely different character.

Q: How do you feel about these dreams whilst you're dreaming?

Quote:
A: It varies a lot. Sometimes I feel almost dysphoric (or at least, what I imagine what dysphoria feels like) but in other dreams I either feel unfazed or comfortable with it. One dream in particular involved me switching between male and female whilst sword fighting with a man made out of the shadows. I felt a bit disorientated.

Q: Do you ever wonder what these dreams mean?

Quote:
A: Well, I am a sceptic of dream interpretations. I think that our dreams are a big mess of subconscious and sometimes fully conscious thoughts usually tied together by whatever you were thinking about as you drifted off. My mind typically wanders about in a scatterbrained manner, throwing things together and making strange combinations. So I'm not particularly surprised at the more bizarre routes my dreams take at times. Whilst I take interpretations with a grain of salt, I do find them a mildly interesting way to pass the time. There are some dreams where I can understand what led to them (for example; a friend of mine was talking about video games one day, and then I had dream about being a character in a video game) but with others I have no clue what led to them.

Q: Is changing sex a common theme in your dreams?

Quote:
A: Hmm. Well, it happens enough that I don't find it to be out of the ordinary. Then again, I tend to roll with whatever is happening in my dreams without finding it too weird usually. I mean, I've even had random poetry occur in my dreams narrating the scene for no apparent reason. The most unusual was one which featured the lines "Here's that donkey with the crimson tail. Sure he may look cute, but he's doomed to fail". I wasn't sure what to make of that prophecy sounding rhyme when I woke up, it was on my mind for a while. Really no idea where those lines came from. :|

(Feel free to add any other related questions to this topic).

I've had the occasional dream where I've been male.

I do usually remember my dreams for at least a little while after waking up. Some fade quickly from my mind while others stick in there.

On occasion I have dreams where I switch characters, but I haven't noticed any consistent differences when I "play" a male one.

I really don't feel very different while the dream is happening. It's only after I wake up that it feels a little weird.

I have indeed wondered whether it means anything, but more of just a casual curiosity, not like I dwell on it or anything.

It doesn't happen to me that often, just barely enough for me to view it as something that just happens occasionally.

I can't recall if I've had a dream that I was a woman. When I was teenager I did wish that I could be female for a day because if I was I would have wanted to lock myself in my room and treat my body like an amusement park...

I've often dreamed that I was a male fictional character, or similar to them, Like Harry Potter or Mario.

Yes, relating to a male character and dreaming about being like them means I am gay. It is so obvious.

I have daydreamt it a number of times. Not because I am non binary in any way but out of curiosity. I think it would be useful if everybody was the opposite sex for a month or two to learn what it is like.

Hey! I have dreamed about that only when I was a child. That would be too funny to be a man for a couple of days :)

Wouldn’t it just  ... can’t even imagine! I remember being/becoming male in a dream or two ... most of mine seem to be about me desperate to escape from an assailant. These almost always involve me eventually taking flight(like supergirl or something  ) and pretty much always escaping. I agree, it’s good when you can control the dream. I have been able to revisit dreams and continue where they previously left off.

I have dreams where I'm a male quite often. I think I'd have been trans if I had the body for it (I'm short with small hands and feet and have a very feminine figure with hips and all).

I remember my dreams sometimes but I usually forget them after a while except for a good or bad feeling I get about them.

I feel strong and good about myself as a male in dreams. I wish the dreams were clearer.

I had a super weird dream last year where I was a fat little primary school girl (pigtails and everything).

I went to school terrified that somehow people would know that I wasn't actually a girl. I needed to pee bad in the dream but felt it was creepy to go in the girls toilets (as if it wasn't creepy enough to be a middle aged man in a school girls body) and I was too scared to go into the boys toilets. I ended up being so freaked out in the dream that I played truant and spent the day at the local shops.

I had like three or four IDENTICAL (but for one) dreams, in which there was some sort of a zombie apocalypse and I was hiding from the zombies on the farm belonging to my grandparents and in those dreams I was a man, whose wife was Pamela Anderson and she was pregnant with our baby 8O
