I just petted my cat, black and white, sitting on the desk near the computer. Not blocking it, not yet.

My dog got a quick head scritch as I walked past him a few minutes ago, and a full-on snuggle maybe half an hour ago. My cat only likes attention on his terms, I haven't pet him since last night because he hasn't shown signs of being willing today.

It's been a while. The last pet (a cat) I was around doesn't like to be petted. Now I feel like going to a petting zoo.

For those that don't have their own pettables, you may be able to go to an animal shelter and pet some there. We have some shelters close by that actually have a cat room that they encourage you to go in and pets the cats roaming freely inside. And pet supplies stores sometimes have visiting shelter pets that you can pet.
