Dear Boss,
Thank you for the honour of your invitation to work. I'm tickled pink by your thoughtfulness. Unfortunately, I'm not yet able to attend the ball because I am caring for my parents who remain sheltered at home. I cannot risk transmitting your smelly germs to them and, likewise, I'm too busy buying their toilet roll to conduct business in 1 m wide aisles at your behest. If you insist that I must slave for cash, please expect that I will, rightly and justifiably, punch customers in the face out of spite toward the moral insufficiency of capitalism. It's your call.

Toodles,
Your Faithful Fluffysaurus

I used this as the template, obviously. Just minor tweaks here and there.

It seems the people here don't care too much about social distancing. In my local shop the staff were putting their (opened, used) drinks in the main freezer where the public food is. Strange thing to do.

Tesco guacamole is very limey in flavour. Not sure why they added sour cream to it either. Real guacamole doesn't contain dairy nor rice starch.

Sounds like we have a further 3 week lockdown being announced on Sunday

Scotland have already confirmed it for them and the Welsh First Minister also confirmed it and went on to say that Johnsons announcement on Sunday for England would be for the same thing.

I think he is going to have to put a lot of fluffy wording around it about how they are monitoring it day by day and it will be eased soon etc as I think this time a tiny, but significant, % will not take the news well.

^ You’re probably right about folks not taking it well: anecdotally Mrs K has been having customers on the phone all week asking her to book them in starting next Monday!
Some at least have been taking it as read that all the measures will be lifted from start of next week... 8O

Did everyone have street parties around them today? Apart from my neighbour, who played Eminem very loudly all afternoon they were all playing Vera Lynn :D . Thankfully the street one over put on the Beetles as it went dark and next door gave up.

No street parties to report here.
Peculiar since it’s a very Tory area: you’d expect them to be up for it on this occasion.
Maybe they’re all disobeying lockdown in a field with a big marquee? :P

Wow, I walked to my mum's house, twenty minutes, and I passed by or through at least seven. Mostly small. Largest twenty people. Lots of bunting too. Weather was ideal.

No street parties here, although my area is a bit down and dour even before lockdown. You just don't see anyone happy around where I am sadly.

Hmm, social distancing...I wonder how long everyone is going to last before they go nuts.

The world is doomed. Isn't it?

My Little Town ( Simon and Garfunkel reference ) is 38th in the list of confirmed cases - out of about 450 uk towns and cities :(

Not sure there was much going on round here, but I slept throughout most of the morning and the whole afternoon. Did notice a couple of houses with Union Jacks in the windows when returning from the supermarket within the last hour though.

Mrs K has informed me that there were people singing Vera Lynn songs in the pensioners flat complex out the back of ours, but I didn’t notice because I was totally zoned into playing my guitar. 8)
