I think it’s safe to say by now that the new med (temazepam) is not helping much/at all. Still have the old med (doxapin) so I’m getting some sleep, which I don’t unaided.

I find insomnia to be quite good for me. I work at a hospital and often have to be on call for nights. I do however wish my days could be more routined.

dragonsanddemons,

Benzos are pretty weak sleeping aids for some of us. As you found out. I know someone that takes T and it's lights out. They may as well be a placebo for me. The higher sedating antipsychotics only work for me, but they serve a dual purpose, so the side-effects are more in my favor. Doxepin sorta does a few of the things they do, especially the strong H1 antagonism.

I haven't been able to sleep unaided for around 18 years now.

for those who can avail of the technology, dan dial's molecular enhancer, among its many benefits, is that it also for many people is a soporific. puts 'em to sleep.

15 years is a decent amount of time (it sucks).

I guess I'll be like this for the rest of my life, which is alright. Almost half my life now so it's basically the norm. I have a couple of brands of the same medication, and one is more sedating (nice QC there), so I save that one for night. It usually works outside of flareups of mental illness, and no real dose helps then (night walk time). I'm not really a fan of adding another similar drug on top, albeit it can sometimes allow me to sleep during bad times, which don't happen all that often to be fair.

The medication does dull my senses and mind daily, which I guess can be useful.

Hate taking medication for something that is suppose to be natural … it almost seems part of being a Aspie
Is to experience un-natural things . Gosh I hope , I get some actual sleep tonight .

Grumble. Almost 1am. Have an early dentist appointment for repairing a filling which seems to have gone bad or maybe the tooth has gone more bad around the filling.
That hurts.
Tinnitus is screaming in my ears.
The neurological autoimmune thing is causing pain.
The several spots of musculoskeletal decay are causing pain.
Past experiences suggest that taking enough pain medication to allow sleep will pretty much guarantee me oversleeping for dental appointment.
Which due to being available because of a cancellation is the only one available for a couple weeks.
If sleep doesn't come soon it is highly likely I'll oversleep due to exhaustion.
I am getting rather weary of pain and frustration.

got very tired @ 11P last night using my dial molecular enhancer, thought it'd be a shoo-in for a zoom right into dreamland, but after falling asleep during my lumbar stretch a half hour later, i was wide awake until about 4. drat.

Sleeping better, with adjustments. More like 10-5, 12-5. Has messed up writing routine, though. Our lives are a Rubik's Cube, which is reset each morning.
