I've done that ^
It's not about my life though

I also wrote an autobiography for my ASD assessment
188 pages
(My poor assessor ... )

Everything sounds interesting but trust me, it wasn't

* Actually I stand corrected -- The ghost was interesting *

I'm pretty sure I've told the story on here, likely to Ezzy

I was in high school and stayed home because I was sick
It was December but I'm not sure what year ('86 maybe?)

I was home alone in the house
The door was dead-bolted

I went from my bedroom toward the kitchen for a drink of water
There was a ghost man standing in the kitchen
I was still in the hallway
He just stood there with his arms at his sides
He was maybe 20-22, with dark brown collar-length 1970s hair
He wore a 1970s bright blue and orange bomber-style ski jacket and blue jeans

He was looking my direction but didn't seem to see me (another dimension)
He was not solid but not transparent -- hard to describe

I stared at him for a long time and kept blinking but he didn't go away
I was so scared I backed up and locked myself in the bathroom
I put the water cup up to the door so I could listen for movement
Didn't hear a thing

I stayed there all afternoon until my dad came home and I had to open the deadbolt

My parents laughed at me and said it wasn't real

i wonder if it was a previous resident of the house? there are many reported things like timeslips and daylight/night-time apparitions. "there are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of in your philosophy." in most folks' philosophies in any case. i have seen multiple poltergeists meself, at least once in a grocery store in front of other witnesses, all we could do is look at each other and shake our heads. IOW i believe you.

It's one of those things where every now and then I stop and think "Seriously .. WTF was that?"
It's so frustrating because I know it was real and I wasn't imagining it.

Nothing was stolen or touched.
If he was a real person he couldn't have exited the house with the deadbolt on.

It's also weird that I don't remember what year it was or what grade of HS I was in.
Something tells me it was 16 December but I don't know what year.

I told a lot of people at the time but everyone said it was my imagination.

I believe you about the poltergeists and would like to know more.
I think there might be a ghost stories thread on here somewhere.

My mum says she's seen my dad many times -- even this weekend on Christmas Eve.
I heard him once.
I walked in my parents' house years after he died.
I wasn't thinking about him or anything.
Suddenly I heard him say "Hell - O" (hello), the way he always said it.
It came from the chair where he always used to sit.

Weird stuff, but much more interesting than my other stuff.
Most of my other stuff in the list happened during trauma.
I was terrified rather than having fun (e.g., running on the bridge etc.)

Oh, another thing I did:
There was a big storm when I was in a fishing boat with my dad and granddad
We had to swim over to a rocky island and they tied me to a tree with rope
Then they left with the boat to get help
I was about 13

enough action and drama for multiple lifetimes there. since you asked, at the local "shop n'hop" store i was waiting in line when to the left of me, a package of potato chips sailed about 6 feet in front of the shelf as though it was gently thrown. we all wondered WTF just happened. but i'd seen/heard it all before. my own mom poltergeisted me about a week after she passed, in 2008. i was alone in her house one night when all of a sudden a great vibrating cacaphony erupted in the basement, howling/grinding/thumping/pounding/screeching racket in all the ducting beneath the top floor i was standing in [in the kitchen], and after about a minute i shouted back at the noise, "ALRIGHT I HEAR YOU!!" at which point the noise stopped dead cold. in my tin can out in the woods, now and then things will sail a similar distance [4-6 feet] across the space i'm in or elsewhere such as down the hall in my bedroom or bathroom.

A couple other things:

Was present for one of the Communist Party's World Festivals of Youth and Students (during the Cold War).
Was in the Cape Verde Republic

Considering how we Americans believe ourselves the center of the Universe, a couple of things few Americans have done.

Have been on board a commercial Transatlantic flight on which I may have been the only American passenger.

Played Canadian Football.

I remember your basement story!
The potato chip thing is cool especially because you had other witnesses.
I was hit by a fork at chest level, in my kitchen.
I was a few feet away from the countertop and suddenly BAM!
It came from the countertop but went upward somehow?
If it had slid, it would have fallen on the floor.

No the tines of the fork didn't stab into me.
It just flew off the counter with considerable force.
I'd say it went about 4 feet just like yours, but at an upward slope.

There's also the case of the magic penny.
I'll have to look up the other thread for ghosts and paranormal stuff.
I'll put the penny story there.

Don't you live in Canada? They don't use pennies there. Must have indeed been magical.

Uhhh ... Canada discontinued pennies in 2013.

I lived a good many years before that.

Poltergeists are nothing more than demonic spirits which can be cast out.

Related to discussion thread topic: Might this topic be a good mental exercise - which might encourage participation in activities important to forming friendships?

On the discussion thread topic: Based-on the responses in this disc. thread, I might be able to contribute a response.
