certain expensive new cars come with blind spot warnings. that should be a mandatory piece of safety equipment on all cars, and should be available as a bolt-on bit of technology for those of us who can only afford to drive old cars.

Ah, I was under the impression lane-departure warnings and blind spot cameras were now mandatory.

Even Cup cars have a rearview camera/TV screen, and NASCAR is slow AF to adopt new technology.

according to mr. google, [in USA] they are not mandatory. but back-up cameras are mandatory now. lane departure warning systems are not mandatory but highly encouraged.

It'd be nice to have a blind spot camera that's activated with the blinker.

Then again there's people who seem to be unaware of the need to signal before changing lanes.

as well as folks who consistently drive 10 mph under the limit until you try to pass them at which point they stomp on it and weave.

I'll include the people who drive at or above the speed limit and engage in the same behaviour. If we prefer to travel at differing speeds it's easier for everyone involved to just let the faster one overtake as soon as it becomes safe. If someone thinks someone else is driving too fast, the sooner someone else is way down the road the sooner they're no longer a you problem. If you think the car in front is moving too slow, don't try to force them to go faster, just prepare to get around them once it becomes safe to do so. There's two types of 'too slow' people too, the ones who don't give a s**t and can't be pressured and the ones who are scared and won't improve under pressure (new and timid drivers)

If you weren't in a hurry before you saw the person moving faster than you you're not in hurry just because you saw someone moving faster. If you're in a hurry due to poor planning, that's on you. Even if you is occasionally me.

I've played video games where I'd be cheering and jumping around when I got past a really tough part of the game, or yelling and growling in frustration and jumping when I couldn't get past it.

When I was younger I'd be in my bedroom at the group home playing Crash Bandicoot 2 and freaking out, and then the staff would come in to ask if I was okay. Because they probably thought I was yelling at the voices in my head or some nonsense.

They were constantly coming into my room because apparently they needed to make sure I hadn't hanged myself or something, and I hated the interruptions and invasion of privacy and they didn't seem to know how uncomfortable it made me.

I don't know, It's kind of like when people watch a movie and feel sad or scared or happy by what they're watching, even though you know none of it is real and it's just acting, you just forget while you watch.

But when you watch sports, that's real. Maybe.

Typing in the inquiry online of why people cheer at sports on TV yielded answers along the lines of people having emotional attachments to sporting events - which people find entertaining.
