I believe the engine in these V8 Rover P6's were derived from an early 60's Buick design that was later sold to Rover. I think the original engine was called the Buick 215 V8. I'm not a expert on British vehicles so don't quote me.
One slightly puzzling thing about the car that's featured here is that it's billed as a 1976 model, yet the front grille was only seen on cars made until about 1970. I have a feeling that it is in fact one of the earlier Series 1 models, and that the creator of the video may be mistaken. This is also suggested by the leather upholstery, which was much less common in the 1970s, probably for reasons of economy. The 1970s Series 2 cars had a very distinctive and different honeycombe grille.
