One slightly puzzling thing about the car that's featured here is that it's billed as a 1976 model, yet the front grille was only seen on cars made until about 1970. I have a feeling that it is in fact one of the earlier Series 1 models, and that the creator of the video may be mistaken. This is also suggested by the leather upholstery, which was much less common in the 1970s, probably for reasons of economy. The 1970s Series 2 cars had a very distinctive and different honeycombe grille.

I wouldn't be too sure about that. Bryan Ferry of Roxy Music very much projected the image of a wealthy, sophisticated cosmopolitan 'Man of the World' and it wouldn't surprise me too much if the car in question were a Lamborghini, Maserati, Ferrari or something of that sort.

There is no way that is a Lamborghini or Maserati, the car in question sounds like a inline 4 cylinder not a V12 or anything exotic like that.

Autistic censorship.

A 427 ,v8 gm design, a short stoker,with ported and polished milled heads .....dual quads on top of a low profile blower , to make it fit under the hood. With titanium valves ,and a lightened flywheel . was a favourite of late hubby, from 1970s onward. As a aerospace engineer/ mechanic, For several world record holding cars. From Bonneville to muroc dry lake to various dragstrips around this Country . He was very welcome in anyones pitt,for their cars .. Was kinda amazing that , he could walk right into the Pitt area of any raceway we went to. Am have at least a half dozen raing car owners greet him ,like a long lost family member. "He wil be missed ." RIP ( and a wicked street Racer on that rare occassion)

I know where an original COPO car rests in a junkyard shed. It is well hidden under piles of seemly junk parts. The 427 was rebuild and never put back into the car. It has been resting that way since the mid-1980s. It was special ordered for racing. The owner knows what he has and will not sell. He turned down a six figured cash offer for it already.

Jeez, watched my husband have the same issues where we used to live . a Automotive shop / junkyard had one ..that was about that much money , That he had tracked.down ...kept bugging the guy to let it go for alittle less . Not understanding the level of his appreciation he had for the motor.. It was way too high priced to me.. Until years later , I saw what he had been going through to Locate that motor . So alittle research and some kind / patient words from a few of his friends , I figured it was a rare piece. ...

I can understand not wanting to sell a rare car, as you might not be able to replace it. There are many stories of people who used to have (insert rare car), yet sold it back in the day. They did not realize what they had at the time and now cannot afford to buy another even if they could find one.

In college, one of my friends had a black on black 1968 Mustang coupe with the California Special package (along with a luggage rack, power windows, and a lot of other odd options). It was a rare 390 - 4bbl.with the 4-speed. It was his high school car and he would never sell when asked. He was offered a new Mustang GT 5.0 for it at the time by a dealership, but he kept his car. I had bought a rough 1969 Mustang Mach 1 to tinker with money from my part time job. It is still with me, sitting in a covered storage unit needing restored. We were going to race them someday, but I lost contact with him after graduating from college. I have yet to find another one optioned exactly like his.

When we got married , i had only been officially diagnosed a few years. And I knew about the idea, if you have a symptom,its almost easier to see it in other people ..But I was new to it . And did not want to appear silly.
So I just wondered? but We were new in each others life.. In retrospect , judging by his actions . And his , absolute need for "down time" on certain occassions. But he was older than me, And pretty sure the Asperger's diagnosis,was almost non-existant in 1944 . And his parents were IN the mainstream medical world. As time past , cleaning out some corners of the house . Found some of his childhood drawn pictures ..probably around kindergarten age,he was drawing cars .
I would say he was on the spectrum , possibly ADHD ..Too .
