What's a vacation you've been on that you remember fondly? Either as a kid or as an adult.
When I was a kid we used to go to the beach in Italy on the island of Sardinia, which is kind of remote, for Italy, and has pristine beaches, unlike some other parts of Italy where the seawater is polluted. We could walk from the place where we were staying down to the beach along a dirt path, and we had a Zodiac that we used to go to even more tucked away beaches. It's very dry and rocky there.
Do you like travel, sightseeing, nature?
I do like travel, sightseeing, and nature and plan to do some more of that when I retire.
Recently, I went up to Martinsburg, Pennsylvania, with my brother to bury my mother's ashes. There is nothing much up in Martinsburg other than wide open plains, farmland, well-constructed brick houses, and hints and traces of the Amish and Mennonite communities that lurk there and are occasionally visible. It is such a good and wholesome small town. I enjoyed the trip immensely, because we went bowling and went out to restaurants and such, and it was great fun to do all of these (for me) unusual things. It is clear why my mother moved up there long ago.
