This is a wild eyeball topic, I am aware but space tourism is slowly developing. You see several businessman , Richard Branson for one thing are trying to develop the industry, so it begs the question, if you could go to Mars, would you?

I am just curious, for those who choose to go, what would be the places you would be interestated in visit? For me, I would love to visit the Valles Marineras, Olympus Mons, and thesiteof the Mars probes..

(and no I don't have a job with Virgin Galactic, though I wish, I love traveling).

I would want to see mars, though anywhere safe on the planet's surface would be fine.

I don't think I'd like to go. I heard that the atmosphere there was somewhat shallow.

My lungs usually require a certain amount of oxygen. Plus, the climate doesn't seem all that friendly. If they worked a whole lot of this stuff out, uh, maybe.. But they'd have to go through a lot for it to be a good place for humans.

I think I'd stop at Deimos and Phobos first; the view would be fantastic.

i would wait a few years until martian tourism was well established and safe.

i have no fear of getting into a 747, but i would not have accepted a ride in the early planes when flying was new.

the mortality rate of tourists to mars must drop to below 1 in 10,000 before i will put myself in a seat of a vehicle to mars.

if i was absolutely satisfied as to the low probability of mortality while i was on mars, i would be very fascinated and obsessed with every aspect of what i see there.

on the way to mars, i think i would be very unnerved by the continuous "falling" sensation.

when one is in zero gravity, then it feels exactly like being in free fall. it would be hard for me to overcome my "falling shock sensation" and assure myself that i am not really falling.

it would be like being in an elevator who's cables snapped (and the backup safety brakes failed). i would be floating in space inside the elevator and waiting for the inevitable fatal thud.

one has to overcome that instinctual sensation of fear of falling in order to not have a very bad time in outer space.

when i am standing on mars at 1/3 my weight, i would be fine, but still have to adjust my idea of how much i weigh.

if i got used to it after a few weeks, then, when i returned to earth, i would feel crushed with the burden of excessive gravity and have to readjust for another few weeks.

is the trip worth it if i am not going to stay there?

i would not go to mars until the industry ironed out all it's bugs and the odds of catastrophe were acceptable to me.

I find it hard to travel. I think I'll wait for more Martians to crash land on Earth. (Just as I obviously must have done! )

Sounds good to me. The notion of being on another planet would be too much for me to resist.

As long as I got to meet some aliens, I'd be happy :)

I think our own planet has a lot more to offer tourists.

I understand the Martian sights (OM, VM) wouldn't be that impressive from the surface, because the horizon is too near to take in their scale. But definitely, yeah. I'd take a trip to Mars (or the Moon, or wherever) even if it was one-way only.
