If there was a city for Aspies what country would youwantin?

This is inspired by the Aspie High School topic but expanding it to a different level.

IT is not a wild concept because there are special economic zone cities being developed in Saudi Arabia, UAE, and in Moscow

So, blending the two concepts together what country?

(Then we can have a discussion about political structure and organization).

(How would we overcome sensory issues in public transport and at the airport?)

(How would immigration be handled?)

(What companies would we give incentives to develop in our downtown and what style of incentives?. Tax holidays, rent preferences, etc?)

Just a wild fantastical idea, but I can always dream, right?

Well; Somewhere not too hot, or too cold.

& by the ocean for sure.

Or we could all go explore the Bermuda Triangle. Just a suggestion.

Virtually everything is under state control and there are lots of rules BUT it's a wonderful place to be and everything is clean and working.

Somewhere cold and natural like Iceland or Greenland.

Political structure and organization
Communist consensus democracy. With an emphasis on free-education, free-healthcare and free-housing.

How would we overcome sensory issues in public transport and at the airport?
Everything would be designed with sensory issues in mind. Trains would be designed to be quiet as opposed to fast. Buildings would be designed to be sound-proofed to an extent, instead of being cheap.

How would immigration be handled?
People would be allowed entry via merit and need. People would need to live in our country for a long-time (perhaps 10 years?) before they can apply to be true citizens, this would allow them the vote. Anytime past 2 years would allow them to stay indefinitely.

What companies would we give incentives to develop in our downtown and what style of incentives?. Tax holidays, rent preferences, etc?
Big business would be discouraged, any company over a certain size would be nationalised. Small businesses would not be taxed on their earnings but would be taxed on imports/exports. Most of the tax revenues would come directly from people's wages.

As for downtown development (or development anywhere for that matter), the key is to balance public welfare, the environment, and economic development.

Probably a combination of Budapest, Hungary and Monevideo, Uruguay.

Budapest and Montevideo are known for their amazing food, low cost of living, water health spas, and excellent old world architecture.

Culture: Budapest has more writers per capita than almost anywhere in the world. Hungarians are obsessed with world cinema, so Budapest has some amazing old movie palaces. Montevideo is one of the homes of tango music.

Climate: Montevideo has palm trees and access to the beach. Warm summers and mild winters.

Politics: Progressive.

Immigration: Based on merit.

Primary Modes of Transportation: Monorails, streetcars, and water buses would be the way to go! Part of the city would be a car free downtown with Segway and bike rentals. (I can't ride a bike, so I'd use a Segway.)

Sound Design: Each street would have calming sound generators. Think the sound of the ocean, rainfalls, breezes, etc.

Economic Incentives: Small businesses, companies that make solar and wind power parts and provide sustainable energy, bookstores, restaurants, places that recycle items into new goods, cob and papercrete home builders, farmer's markets, and local street food vendors.

New Zealand

I live in Seattle. It is an awesome place to live, one of the best in the World, if you don't mind two things: heavy traffic and gray skies. Unfortunately both drive me insane.

We have only two seasons: summer and rain. About 10 weeks of summer, and the rest is gray/dark/wet. No snow or extreme weather or storms or cold or anything like that; just gray and wet for 9 months. Besides weather here is unpredictable. We were supposed to have a hot sunny day today according to this morning's forecast.... it is raining!

Traffic is just horrible. I live only a mile from work so I don't have a commute. I don't know how people put up with being stuck in traffic day in and day out for years and years. It is insane.

It could be in Russia, southern Russia so you don't freeze do death. Russia is virtually empty so space wouldn't be a problem. And there wouldn't be zillions of imagrents, as they'r currently in England, and there would be more space for them along with the chavs in England now... Economical I really don't know how the city would work, as due to hypersensitivity among many people with aspergers some jobs required for the basic workings of the city would not get done, or get done, but not enough. As for public transport, problems would arise there aswell, I think the only option would to have lots of tube trains, or whatever would be used, as then less people would be in each one, the problem that would arise as a by-product of this solution though is the cost of more trains, lines, tunnels etc. Of course the other option is building a giant death star and taking over the world, and having an entire planet, the only problem there is that I'm not sure anyone knows how to build a death star, and they haven't invented giant death rays yet...

Surely it has to be California. Long history of failed Utopian communities, probably best start by building up one of these. Well connected for trade and commuting, plenty of diagnosed people live there already and I think the American political system is sufficient for our purposes.

Ok this might be biased because I live here, but it really is a nice place to live. Although it's quite common to experience all four seasons in one day over here (that's not just a myth!) there's no extremes in temperature except in the South Island in Winter and some lower parts of the North Island. I don't know anyone elses reasons for wanting to live here but for me, it's just a really laid back place. We hear about what chaos is going on in other parts of the world and think..."Wow, we're lucky that we're near the bottom of the earth!".
I'm not saying that bad things don't happen here but you hear people quite often coming to visit NZ and never going back to where they came from.

However if I have to say a country other than my own, I would choose Australia. Nice weather, plenty of opportunities but the downside is the HUGE spiders!!

Hmm... Somewhere in Canada would be nice! I love the cold weather!!

'Socialist' or 'Social Democratic' makes sense, but not 'Communist'. Stop misusing that word.

Alternatively, instead of basking in ignorance and assumption, you could attempt to educate yourself.
