there's 400-500 people online right now apparently, but i'm only seeing less than 10 people post anything. there's more than enough people to take conversation to heightened levels here but it seems most are trapped in their own little inner mexican standoffs.

i was under the impression that we all share the same problems or similiar ones that would help foster levels of unerstanding and somewhat ease of mind, combined with the fact that it's always easier to talk online rather in real life for such sociophobes as we should make for a somewhat more livelier set of forums than this, no?

trying to find converation here is like walking through a ghost town, stopping to peer in every window, and randomly seeing people out of the corner of your eyes peer out of distant window, going there and having the same thing happen again. you're all out there, but for the few people making conversation i'm seeing it's mostly a dead zone.

like a game of whack-a-mole...

sorry, but I have to get up early, i answered your post about pictures. Maybe people are signed in but too busy to reply. I know how you feel though, sometimes i want to have an intelligent conversation but no one is here, I wish you luck for tonight, don't give up yet, I don't know where the regulars are, I'm coming home from vacation tomorrow so I don't have time to chat.

How could one possibly keep track of anything in here if there were 400-500 people tearing off posts rapid fire at all times? I mean, I know I couldn't...

the same way they do at adultswim.com forums. if they'd actually bothered to implement it here. but there you could check all your sent posts individually from a link in your profile and it would say if it was replied to or not and how many times. i miss that kind of forum convenience even if it was a little fast paced. at least i was never lacking for conversation or people to talk to even if they weren't fellow aspies

1. nobody's keeping them from posting. theres nothing "strange" going on or anything like that.

2. if they all posted, it would probably be too much, despite neat features to help you keep track of your discussions. not everyone are here for in-depth debate that they can follow by saving threads, many simply click around and reply to random posts they find. if 500 people posted non stop, threads would dissapear quickly. im glad only 10 people post at the time. very very glad :D

3. similar problems indeed. check out "the haven" as an experiment, leave it for a month, then check back: exactly the same threads, different posters (plus a few repeaters) :]

Yeah, that's the problem, everyone else seems to have it covered so I stay quiet a lot of the time and just lurk. I don't know what you're talking about actually, there seems to be a lot of activity when I'm on here. Lots of looooooooong detailed posts. Why do I need to open my mouth? (Or.. fingers.)

Well, think of it this way:
more activity equals more lag.

And who doesn't hate lag?
