When I was a kid I loved sticking maps all over the wall because I loved to learn about places.

I would read the dictionary because I loved words.

That would make me seriously weird except for this forum because you all know what I am talking about. :D

When I was a kid, I carried a Thesaurus around with me all over the place.

Glad I'm not the only one who used to read the dictionary. :)

I used to read dictionaries. When I wrote songs I usually had a little "kit" with me that consisted of a dictionary, a thesaurus, and a rhyming dictionary.

My real interest, though, was encyclopedias. As a kid I would spend hours laying on the floor reading them. My favorite was a set of scientific encyclopedias my mom got me. For several years she even got the annual updates until they got to be too expensive. :(

:D My favorite things to read were a set of encyclopedias and a dictionary when I was a kid. Also a guide to tree identification. I still love things like that.

My one frustration - there's no such thing as a thesaurus that lists only antonyms. Which can be a little frustrating.
I've never carried dictionaries or thesauruses around, and I've never read them from cover to cover (though I once thought about buying the Complete Oxford English Dictionary, til I saw how much it cost). But as a hyperlexic I have a lot of interests in words, their meanings, and their etymology. I'm also fond of wordplay, and have been told off at work for making abstruse puns in official documents - for example, regarding an enquiry on my area of work, I told the sender that it fell "outside our bailiwick", which can mean authority or jurisdiction, but officially the full title of the place is the Bailiwick of Jersey.

Sure. I used to read them as a kid, and sometimes I still find myself doing it, if I'm looking a word up, and one interesting word takes the other. :D

I use various online dictionaries all day for various purposes whenever I'm unsure of something that has my attention. Sometimes I catch myself reading article after article. That applies especially to Wikipedia.

No, I'm a Windows guru. LOL!

I meant I'm horrible at thinking of the correct words as well. ;)
