I've been wondering myself for a little while, but I'm not sure. I'm not scared of the dark at all, and so I have no problem walking around in the dark by feel. But if it was in a house that I knew was the scene of a murder, I'm not sure what my thoughts would be. :?

So, would you ever buy a house that a murder, suicide, or tragic accident took place in? Of course assuming you knew about it, and you would have bought it otherwise.

Of course I'm interested in spooky/creepy things, so in a way I think it'd be kinda cool. But on the other hand, I'd probably be scared of it being haunted, especially at night or when I had the house to myself. :pale:

I don't know if I could sleep soundly in a house where someone was murdered (and possibly in the room where it happened), but it'd be cool to own such a house just for the novelty. There's such a house in my town where a guy slained his family several years ago, and as far as I know the house is currently occupied.

Realistically, I don't believe in haunted houses; plus, I'm not planning on buying a house, ever, in my life.

But if this were hypothetical, and anything I wanted could come true (even my "dream" house), then my answer would be yes. If I were interested in this house already and it happened to be a murder scene house, I would purchase it regardless. No issues.

I would. I think that it would be cool to live in such a house. 8)

Ooh, I have a great story about this!

About 10 years ago a friend of mine and his family moved into this house in Seattle's University district when we both were in middle school, and he's lived there off and on ever since. A few years after he moved in, my father moved next door to a man named Bob Keppel, who's well known for being a pioneer in the field of criminal profiling, and for his extensive interviews with and pursuit of local serial killer Ted Bundy. So my dad bought his book on Bundy intending to get it signed, and while flipping through it I found a picture of a very familiar looking house captioned "University district house of where Bundy victim was abducted". My brother and I initially thought it was just a sort of macabre coincidence, so I showed the picture to my friend, who didn't believe me that looked like his house, so we showed the picture to his parents, who immediately start hemming and hawing while shooting dirty looks at me. Turns out that not only was it the same house, but they had known the house's history when they moved in, and kept it from the my friend and his sister so they wouldn't get creeped out. We later found out that the victim in question was actually abducted from my friend's bedroom... He's not the type to take that sort of thing too seriously, but I still don't think he's quite forgiven me for digging up the history of his house, unintentional or not.

I wouldn't; not because I'm frightened of it being haunted or anything, because I don't believe in any of that in the first place, but because it would be too creepy and disturbing for me.

I wouldn't mind taking a tour of such a house, but I definitely wouldn't want to live there.

Yes - but far as I'm aware I wouldn't live in it.

Murder scene houses are cheap & I'd do it up if necessary, rent it out then try & make a profit on it later when everyones forgotten about the murder. :D

Sure I would - what difference does it make? Might even get a better deal on a house like that.

Absolutely. I don't believe in ghosts or anything like that.

But I'd pretend it bothered me and demand a steeper discount.

No, because it really saps the resale value.

If I genuinely liked the house then yes, I would buy it. I wouldn't buy a house simply because a murder took place there, I may have had an obsession with serial killers in the past but I was never *that* obsessed. The 'fear factor' wouldn't be an issue for me because as I've heard someone say before - there are no such things as haunted houses, only haunted people.

Perhaps a murder scene door. Not the whole house.

Of course. It's just a house.
