This is a thread about bad things you've found in your food before. I'll start if off. A few years ago I bought a Mr. Goodbar and when I took a bite out of it, one of the peanuts was extra chewy. I spit the piece out and looked at it closely. I noticed that the so-called peanut had segments. That when I realized I had just taken a bite out of a maggot. Needless to say I haven't eaten a Mr. Goodbar since then. I also started this on Intensity. I'm curious about others' food horror stories.

The most common thing I've found in my food that wasn't supposed to be there was hair.

Oh, my gosh!

I never even thought about the finger in that bowl of Wendy's chili! That even more gross than hair!

Yes, I believe that the most common thing that you would find in your food is hair, but why would you think I scratch pork? are you joking?

The worst thing that I have had in my food/drinks was hair in my lemonade. After this, I had alot of trouble accepting any other drinks from my dad.... The worst that I heard of though was that chicken head in the mcdonalds " Chicken Mcnuggets". That will haunt me for life, though I already escaped from the clutches of mcdonalds before that incident.

Don't worry, pork scratchings are a kind of snack, made from pork...something. Well, some part of pork anyway. I think it might be the skin or somewhere near, due to to the hair reference. :) I don't know how popular they are outside of England though. And I've found hair in food before. One time I also found a dead bug in a cereal box, but thankfully it was on the other side of the bag, and not actually in the cereal though. :P (I still didn't touch the cereal after that though...)

Are pork scratchings popular in England?

it must be, because I have never heard of "pork scratchings". I have, however, heard of pork rinds.

I guess that's what pork rinds are called in the UK.

My food horror story is that I have not eaten a Chicken McNugget for 6 years. I heard a horror story from my mom, I ate it once more, and was so revolted just thinking about the chicken getting ground that I never ate one again.

This is Jason. I posted a reply to your introductory thread just a few minutes ago?

I have one question for you. Are you an American just like I am?

My hair is really thin so it ends up in everything anyway.

Well, I've got two. There was once a pillbug on my toast, and there were shed locust skins inside of my poptart. And yes, I ate them both before I realized.

Yep. American and not-exactly-proud-right-now-of-where-the-country-is-going.

BTW, what game shows do you like?

This country will improve soon, I can tell. I have confidence about that.

I tape "The Price is Right' every day, and I am really into "Deal or No Deal." "Wheel of Fortune" is good every once in a while, and "Jeopardy!" has gotten boring since time has gone by.

In other words, I am more of the traditional game show fan.

I was once given some pancakes with glass in them.

Crunch is not something you want from a pancake.

Nope - pork scratchings and pork rinds are different. Pork scratchings are quite a bit heavier and harder, and have a crispy layer of fat under the skin. Most of the time they manage to get the hair off but occasionally you get pieces where the hair remains! Pork scratchings are commonly sold (prepacked) in pubs and in markets and the like. They are extremely unhealthy and fattening (as you could probably guess) which is why not that many people eat them on a regular basis. They just like them with their pint of beer sometimes. :)
