My avatar is a historical logo for the Illinois Central Railroad. The logo in my avatar was used from 1950 to 1967. Although Illinois Central used a lot of logos, the one in my avatar is my favorite. Go here to see all the logos: http://www.icrrhistorical.org/logos.html.

Too bad the IC has been 'Noodlized'. I am fully understanding of you on that point, as we are fast losing all vestages of our beloved Wisconsin Central to the 'Noodle', too.

<sigh...>

Anyways, my avatar is a German highway sign that means 'begin autobahn driving rules'.

:)

Mike

My Avtiar is a Routemaster with The Mothers of Parliament in the background. It was on Route 159 and it was the last Standard Routemaster to be built, in 1965. I use this Avtiar as a Memorium of what I think was the best Bus that was ever built, in the History of Buses.

They'll be back! I know they will!

If the Bobbies have a strong Beat, after almost being completley phased-out, back in 1994, than the Routemasters will be back on their proper routes, with a vengence, in ten years.

My avatar, and my nickname, refer to an artist I much admire, Mr Rowland Emett.

The picture is of a machine which which was created for the film "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang"
In a not completely straightforward way it looks like me.

My avatar has a cropped version of the Union Flag in the background. In the foreground is the red rose of Lancaster, the county flower of Lancashire. The rose is surmounted by a crown, a reference to the British monarchy. :)

The username Tequila refers to the main character of John Woo's 1992 action extravaganza Hard-Boiled (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0104684/).

My avatar is an extract from a picture which was in NBC's top photos of 2005.
The original picture had a bee hovering beside the cherry blossoms but I cut the bee out.

I've changed my avatar a lot but here is the explanation for some of them. A while ago I had Lain from the anime Serial Experiments Lain, chosen simply because I liked the anime.

The last one was Eeyore, a character from Winnie the Pooh, chosen because apparently he and I are of the same personality type, according to the Myer-Briggs personality assessment.

The current one is from the film Donnie Darko, chosen because I loved the movie and felt close to the character, even though he's a little crazier than I am. I'm a little obsessed with this movie right now.

My avatar is the name and logo of Nintendo's new games console due for release this year (formerly known as 'Revolution').

It's an Irish Wolfhound I found a picture of while surfing the Net and kept because I thought it looked gorgeous. My own dog more closely resembles Gaspode from Pterry's Discworld, alas.

My avatar is the ace of spades. Obviously known as a card, but don't mistake me as a card fanatic. This is what the meaning of my avatar is supposed to mean:

Wikipedia wrote:
The Ace of Spades has been employed, on numerous occasions, in the theatre of war. In the Second World War, the soldiers of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the American 101st Airborne Division were marked with the spades symbol painted on the sides of their helmets. In this capacity, it was used to represent good luck, due to its fortunate connotations in card playing

From what I understand, our playing cards are based off of the Tarot cards. And the Ace of Spades corresponds to "Death"
