I'm not basing it on fact, like ''I will never grow wings and fly''. I am basing it on opinion more. I can be very stubborn, and there are certain things I am never going to do in my life, I don't care what people say.

1. Cruises - I am never going on a cruise. I hear people often get that norovirus when they've been on a cruise, and also I worry that the ship might sink and they are so enormous that it will feel like a death trap if it did sink.

2. Diving - I've never learnt to swim properly, not sure why because I went swimming a lot as a child and always loved it, but I was always afraid to take my feet off the floor. But I think it's because I'm afraid of getting my head under the water in case I drown and die (it's nearly happen before), and so that is why I'm never going to dive.

3. Going on a train to/through London. I've been to London on a train 4 times in my life, and all the 4 times the train had broken down and there were massive delays, each time. I don't like being stranded and waiting at busy places for hours. So I am never doing it again.

What don't you ever want to do/will not do again due to bad experiences, fears and anxieties?

Drive a car. My eyesight is far too bad to drive.

Get married. I'd rather live the life of a man, than be married to a man.

I refuse to make a list like this. I've found that as soon as I declare "I'll never _____" something happens to change my mind.

Life is too unpredictable and my understanding of it and myself not comprehensive enough.

Bungee jumping. I have an intense fear of heights.

I'm not going to get any piercings or tattoos. I'm scared of needles and I don't want any holes or graffiti on my body. I'm that old-fashioned.

Ouch! At my age the list goes on and on and includes many things I always thought I would do someday: I am never going to live on a houseboat; I am never going to refinish the Art Nouveau chair I bought in 1971; learn Chinese or even German; win a bodybuilding contest; keep a lion as a pet; be granted a coat-of-arms; get my financial records in order; mend fences with my father; restore a vintage travel trailer, paint a mural on the ceiling, get grass to grow willingly in my front yard. It's sad, but also liberating, as I needn't spend any more time preparing for or thinking about these things.

Become President
Do a sex scene with Jessica Biel
Throw pennies off very tall buildings
Sit in a coffee house sipping something not called coffee and laughing haughtily about the plight of the proletariat.

I don't think I am yet willing to give up anything else no matter how minuscule the probability of it happening.

My husbands family has a coat of arms. We have two framed things of it in my foyer. It's not that big a deal is it? They all have those two exact things hanging on the wall in their house in his family. One of the things is on dark reddish purple velvet and it's got this raised coat of arms on it. The other is some framed with glass over parchment with some long explination to the side and the drawing of it. I never pay attention to it. My kids all had me bring them to the class and leave them with the teacher when they studied heraldy.

As for the grass, it's Florida, or at least it says that under your avatar. Isn't there some kind of ground cover that will work? Would St Augustine or Zoysia not grow there? Zoysia is great but you have to have it put down in sod. Don't try the plugs. We have Zoysia in the front and Kentucky Bluegrass in the back. Zoysia is soft and easy to keep weeds out of, and grows slowly and doesn't need much water. If you get it sodded, and keep it fed for the first year, it's easy to keep it up after that. You also might try a seed mixture to see if you can get something to grow. Although since you said that, I'm assuming you have tried all this. Have you talked to a landscaper?
