I like to see what members look like. Putting a face to a post.

I can build up a bit of a image of what a poster might look like, but only so far. That is why I think I like to see a pic of members.

It's interesting when you have read a lot of post from a member and then you finally get to see what they look like.

Do you like to know what members look like or not really care so much?

I like looking at peoples face's. But I'm the same in real life.

I wouldn't know how to place it if there are WP members around who would do anything in their lives to absolutely avoid seeing pics of other members on this site for whatever reason.

It sounds a bit bizarre to me.

I mean, we're here to socialize, right?

I'm pretty sure that most (or possibly all) of us would be interested in that. Not necessarily to judge them in any way but just to know who they are. If you know what others look like, then you feel they are more realistic people rather than just anonymous names.

Having said that, I'm paranoid about getting caught by people IRL here, if I show my pic here.

I love it. It's like looking through a high school yearbook full of people you actually like.

I agree with Makayla; it also gives me the sense of camaraderie amongst us on these forums.

I like to see them, I imagine and have visual ideas of what I think people look like based on their posts over time and its fun to see how right I am when they do post a picture. I'm not into posting much myself though.

Only the ones who brag about being good looking. You know, the ones who say they've done modeling and stuff.

I'm curious as to what others look like.
It helps to be able to put a face to a name, for me.
As an aid to memory, it would be of use,
plus I just wonder anyway (about any unseen internet people).

Wish it were simpler to post photo here,
if only one could upload directly from computer to WP profile,
instead of having to already have an external image host account.

no, it doesn't interest me at all to see what they look like. I'm only interested in their posts.

I associate the people here with their usernames and avatars more than anything else.

With a small number of exceptions (mostly people who have their name included as part of their username), I will still imagine that they are defined by their choice of name and avatar here, even after they post their pictures or real names.

This goes double for people who do not change their avatar for long periods of time, and even applies to me.

When I am here, I am a squirrel.

^^^
I have that same problem. I think of others, and even of myself, as the username and avatar (I mostly rely on the avatar but still), it's a very hard habit to break.

I am interested to see someone's photo only when I have read a lot of their posts and often or almost always find value or interest in what they are contributing.
Otherwise, everyone posting here could be gremlins for all I care about looks.

Yeah, it's exactly the same for me.
I even first get startled when I see 'my' avatar go with someone else's post and have to check the user name twice!
I hate my the name I was baptized so I had a name I like added officially two years ago. But even so, I still identify stronger as Skilpadde
