Just wondering if others do this. I tend to use deodorants made for men because a lot of the women's brands either aren't strong enough or they have a scent that bothers me. I am sensitive to a lot of scents where it will either make me sneeze or else get a headache. For awhile I was using shampoo and a leave in conditioner made for men called American Crew because I like the scent.

I also like to use kid's shampoo because it tends to have a calming scent. I love the Johnsons baby shampoo and some of the newer kids products like the Suave 2 in 1 shampoo with conditioner that comes in fruit scents. Course I have a good excuse for that  There's been a problem with getting enough hot water to shower lately so its faster to have a 2 in 1 shampoo than separate products that take twice as long to rinse out. They make the adult equivalent aka Pert but it has a nasty chemical smell. Oh and I also like Huggies sensitive skin baby wash as a bath gel and Aveenos baby lotion. I have really sensitive skin though and a lot of adult products are harsh even the ones that claim to be hypoallergenic.

BTW- if you see someone in Walmart or Target going down the deodorant and shampoo aisles sniffing every container it's probably me.

Back when I was able to use scented products I used baby products or men's products. Now I have to use scent and fragrance free only. I can't even use deodorant, but I've found witch hazel works pretty well. There's also a "crystal" which is just alum, and unscented. One crystal lasts for years. However, I prefer witch hazel because it is also cooling and cleansing. You can also use plain cornstarch and a powder puff. Before all these cornstarch-based baby products came out, I used plain kitchen cornstarch on my boys. It's also way cheaper than the stuff sold for babies.

My husband has to wash his hair in the morning before work, because I can't be in the same room with his shampoo smells. He has to put deodorant on right before he leaves, so I don't get sick from it. I wish he didn't use that stuff at all, but he has an office job.

I hope everyone thinks about people like me before they wear scented products in public. When I am exposed to cologne, body spray, etc. I get extremely sick. I think of myself as the canary in a coal mine. Are all those chemicals healthy for anyone, really? Even essential oils--are they truly necessary and healthy on your skin? [Are you certain they are natural, because nasty chemicals are often used in the extraction process to save money. ]

I can't tolerate scented products. I've found only one shaving cream that is un-scented. The Missus doesn't wear any perfume, and we use un-scented clothes detergent. It's quite the nuisance.

I prefer the smells of mens "stuff" but many are to strong(but the smell it self is nicer then the gagging chemical smell in womens products.)I remember as a kid gagging at the smell of womens maxi-pads....(as a kid,you are at just the perfect hight to get the worst of it.)All these perfumed "personal"female products are a boon to the folks that sell yeast infection meds.

I do get rashes often but not sure what I am alergic to....I also smell everything before I buy it, but I do like some of the newer
"natural" vs "perfume" smells in shower products.Grapefruit and cuccumber are my favorites but the cheaper ones, also smell more chemical then natural. My latest smell addiction is Eucaliptus and camphor...I add it to my bath.I use to use sandelwood(smells like sawdust to me)but I have been going scentless for my boyfriend.....no more burning incense.

Hi Ticker!!

:D

 I use 'kids' toothpaste

The flavors....they make me happy :P and they usually don't burn my mouth

I sometimes use boys deorderants, for the same reason you do, and because of the girls deorderants the only one that works for me is said to have ingrediants that heighten the possiblity of cervical cancer. But, I am thinking of finally getting to the health store for the ingredients for the all natural home remedy type. witch hazel and something else. ... I'll post back when I find it!

sometimes, boy stuff just SMELLS better. cool waters, ect. but, I worry that because I a heterosexual I may be sniffed by others and misjudged.

however-must.use.deorderant...

Got some shower gel recently really cheap - it was Suave and I reckoned after I got home that it's for women. That's fine though - it doesn't really smell flowery or perfumey and after all Axe is only soap too but with a marketing campaign. (I do use Axe deodorant though - it smells good and works great.)

How'd that old commercial go? "Secret strong enough for a man, but made for a woman" So I wondered if any men use Secret because they liked the scent or something. A lot of the women's deodorants smell like baby powder but in a most artificial way so it gives me a headache. There's one of the girls Speed Stick that smells like dill pickles to me. LOL

The scented stuff I wear is the stuff where the scent dissipates quickly or else I couldn't stand to wear it myself. I like the Arm and Hammer Active Sport antiperspirant or the Old Spice Fresh Scent.

I once walked into the Girls Bathroom by accident. Luckily, nobody was there, and I was able to get out without drawing any attention.

I used baby shampoo once because that was all I could find. I have used women's soap before but that was when I didn't have any of my own. I use women's shampoo (because there really isn't any men's shampoo).
