This is for US members only.

We got to vote for our quarter's design, and the one I voted for didn't win. Are you proud of your state's quarter? Post a pic if you want.

No, mine's just about the Indy 500. It already gets enough publicity as it is. We don't need it on our money, too! I like the one with the tree, but I can't recall what state it is. It's one of the earlier ones though.

Indiana, eh? So what would you have put on it?

We had five choices, including a surfer, a hula dancer, and King Kamehameha. I wanted the surfer, but they picked King K. It's so new there aren't any good goodle images yet.

Mine's just a big star.

Hmm... You know, I never really thought about it. But definitely not something sports or agricultural-related since those are typically biased opinions about this state. I'll get back to you on what I think it should be though!

Do you by any chance live in Hawaii???

Yes I do - the 50th state, voted in to the US in 1959. But many people here think the small part of the islands' history involving King K is of utmost importance

I've never been to Hawaii before! Is it as nice as everyone makes it out to be? Which island are you on (if you'd rather not say for privacy, that's fine.)?

My avatar is a picture of my daughter in Kona, near where we live. It has its ups and downs, like anywhere else. It's one of my special interests, though, and is the only place in the US I would live. It doesn't even feel like the US a lot of the time, which is nice.

I'd like to go visit Hawaii someday. I'm considering even retiring there! Of course, I still don't even have my first job, being eighteen and all. lol So what's the weather like there?

The weather is pretty nice :)

I want to collect all 50 of the quarters.

The only quarter I don't like is the Kansas one. It's just a buffalo in the center with nothing around the edges. I think they could've done a little better than that.

Though looking at the thick texture on the buffalo, that's probably because they need to keep it at the right weight or something.

I like the one with the big tree. I can't remember which state it is, though.

I was a little disappointed by the Washington quarter. They decided to go with Mt Rainier, surmounted by a salmon leaping. I was hoping they'd decide to use my favorite proposal - the state motto ("Alki"), in binary code.

I can't remember seeing the Washington quarter. Maybe it hasn't made its way down here yet.

What is "Alki"?

Okay, I figured it out! For Indiana's quarter, they should've put a greyhound on it! I don't really have a legitimate reason except it's my favorite animal. But who doesn't like greyhounds?
