The fact that a lot of people can hurt others without feeling bad about it, unless the people they hurt have hurt them too. I am not capable of that, and I don't understand why anyone would just hurt people and not feel bad about it unless the people had hurt them, and I don't understand why some people even enjoy it when they're causing pain to people with actual thoughts and feelings, no matter how bad they might be (With some exceptions, of course). I just don't get why some people are capable of causing pain to others without feeling pain themselves.

Above all, any form for cruelty to animals.

Pushiness. I really hate pushiness.

Condescension. Arrogance. Smugness.

Extreme stupidity, ignorance. Airheads. Know-it-alls

People who are extremely bubbly and positive (to the point where they appear to be in denial of anything that isn't sunny and good), and extreme negativity (where it seems they never have a good day ever).

Impulsiveness. People who are too talkative get on my nerve, so I don't think it's wrong to say that I detest exrtaversion, but within a family don't want someone who appear allergic to talk either. Too energetic people make me exhausted.

Aggressiveness. People who take out their anger on other people.

People who are narrow-minded. Not willing to listen to others.

People who are judgemental.
Assuming things, spreading rumors, making jokes at another's expense.

Impatience.

Manipulation.

Judgementalness, meanness, harshness, lack of empathy, arrogance, cynicism.

Thanks everyone --- these are great answers!

What I detest most in people I'll call "bitterness". It's when someone accepts an unhappy existence as the new normal and resets their expectations to life being suffering. And then they want society and value systems normed to the comfort level of people whose life is pain. It's the crab bucket attitude, the dog in the manger, the desire of people who are biologically or practically never going to be happy dragging the rest of us down to their level. You see it a lot on the far left and the far right and in s**thole small towns and identity politics subcultures. I think bitterness and hating life is a poison we don't talk about because pity for the suffering clouds human judgment

If I ruled the world, there would be a hand up for people who have been pushed down for every possible reason- because their immigrants, Muslims, poor, women, gay, transgendered, autistic, or whatever. I'd forgive nazis and communists who changed their mind and would stop punishing rapists and war criminals if I thought they really had changed their policies about hurting others. Instead the worst sin would be giving up on human happiness and teaching vulnerable people like children or the poor and depressed than happiness isn't important or possible. Or squatting on suffering people as social territory so you derive power and profit from teaching people to give up on life (I think lots of "helping professional" types are really like this)

I'd promote a culture where people who have given up on life get ostracised to save resources for the living. Humans seem to need someone below them and last place aversion in human nature, so why not make the excluded class the people who can't be happy anyway? There would be PSAs and support groups helping family members and spouses cope with making the right decision of cutting off bitter broken people and not wasting their lives on them. I wouldn't hurt bitter people but there would be suicide booths like on Futurama or the room from Soylent Green publicly available with like a moderate waiting period. It's after all what I want if I ever get some disease trapping me being unhappy forever

Ones who are not honest or trustworthy. Ones who do not take friendship seriously. Ones who think they are right all of the time and no one could possibly have it worse than them. (Those are the biggies)

People who bully others.

Stupidity.

Those treacherous mental health workers who lie and manipulate and wield their power over others who need their help, but whom they deem to be undeserving

Petty crimes. Sure, murder, kidnap and rape are horrible. But, theft of a leather jacket, or vandalism of a motor-vehicle window does ... what, exactly, to benefit the perpetrator?!? No, petty crimes are done for the thrill of knowing that one individual hurt another. Even if the petty crime was theft of $10 in food to feed a family, I can understand. But, simple malicious acts are meaningless except to the perpetrator's ego.

Dishonesty and cruelty. Hard to choose one or the other, they are both deal-breakers for me in any kind of relationship.
