I have a compulsive need to buy stuffed animals every time I see them in stores. I feel guilty if I don't. I have literally hundreds of stuffed animals!!

Yes, you have a problem. 8)
I understand though. Although I don't buy loads, I feel guilty when I see a stuffed toy in a shop.
As if it's sitting there wondering why nobody's bought it yet.
Feeling unloved.
I can related to them.

I hate to see a stuffed animal neglected. I would give up some of my stuffed animals, but I'm too afraid to give them to anyone else for fear they will be mistreated. I can't bear to see a little child bite on a stuffed animal or neglect one. When I was younger, I once nearly cried when I saw a stuffed animal on the side of the motorway. I wanted my mum to stop so we could pick him or her up, but my mum said it was too dangerous. I think the most heart breaking thing ever is an ugly stuffed animal, because then no one will love him or her. I think I feel more empathy for stuffed animals than people. The only thing I care more about is real animals.

I agree with everything you just said. I feel emotions that I should feel for other humans, like guilt and sympathy, for stuffed animals, but not for people. Most would find that strange.

My 3 & 5 year old nephews are spoiled by many relatives and have a mountain of them.
The amount toys they have is shocking.

Warn everyone against buying them more! They will take over their room and eventually the entire house! Take it from someone who has first hand experience!

I buy mine at thrift stores...so money is not a problem, just running out of space in my apartment.I have been buying stuffed animals for the dogs I work with. Some of them are ripped limb to limb......it would break your heart but it is the animals instinct and I do love them(the poop eating feinds that they are), more then the stuffed ones,so I have to let them live out their instincts to shake them and break their little stuffed necks and try and chew out their stuffing(then I have to put them out of their misery before the dogs choke on their unhealthy polyester guts.)

I am a horrible stuffed animal snob,I am sad to admit.I dont like those hard stuffed animals they let you "win" at the fair...they are tactily unpleasant to me.I only like the soft, cute and fuzzy ones.It is a cold, hard world and I know we should not judge on appearance(I am much better at this with people, the few I like)but an animal needs to have "cuddle factor" for me.

I make stuffed animals and I collect them..They have not completely taken over my living space, as my living space is pretty big...but they are a pretty important part of my life.

I get most of mine from the thrift stores and only pick out ones that seem really spceial...usually ones that are old or have been handmade.
I used to rescue them from dumpsters...that is how I got Trixi the Dumpster Unicorn..I tried to do a comic about her...and Bessie the sad lonely she-ox..who has a wire armature and snaps on her udders where the babies used to go....

ah i see now, 'stuffed animal', doesn't mean stuffed dead animal, you mean a toy :) ok, my English is still only improving, and it always will.

i, too, like them. but i love buying them for others. i feel bad about giving it away, though. i never buy anything i don't really need. i'm quite greedy. although, i do have at home, in my bed actually, one stuffed dog. i've got it as a present.

btw, how do you know what sex is it?

I think your dog is a panda bear(I believe they are from similar families, genetically but one eats their own s**t and the other eats bamboo...and is very cute....I think it is probably female,as I see no obvious genitalia.... I buy a lot of stuffed animals for my neices but only mnaged to mail a few.....some ,I just couldnt part with(selfish aunt).I will send money for their graduation.I am sure they prefer that anyway,as they are 18 and 22 now.

Wow, I thought I was the only one - these descriptions fit me with almost frightening accuracy! lol
Especially feeling emotions for cuddly toys, yet struggling with the not-so-cuddly homo [we think were so] sapiens.

Pandas are actually bears but were once thought to be related to racoons. Hyenas are more closely related to cats rather than dogs

And...yes, but I'm not THAT bad.

I just buy a stuffed animal wherever I go. It's more sentimental habit then anything else though,

I used to be like that. I'd always ask my parents for stuffed animals. I had a huge collection in my room.

I still like stuffed animals. I bought some stuffed dogs a couple months ago, and my favorite is my border collie.
