Is it just me or does it seem like Christmas is sooner now?

Right after Halloween ended, our radio station started to play Christmas music and November had just started. Even my son's teacher screamed at her car radio about it.

The neighbors across the street from us put up their Christmas lights. They went right from Halloween to Christmas.

I told my son "I guess because of us going into lock down again, everyone is doing Christmas early because you can't go see your family for Thanksgiving." My son said, "That makes so much sense."

And there is so much Christmas stuff now in our stores here. Halloween stuff vanished pretty quick and it went right to very Christmassy.

Anyone here doing Christmas early, putting up your decorations and listening to Christmas music early?

Admittedly we don't have Thanksgiving but I'm finding it's later this year cos regular people round here aren't doing what regular people where you are are doing and there's no shops for me.

Occasionally I see a Christmas advert on youtube or TV but that's it.

Except that mum and one of her friends is already buying for Christmas. But that's fairly normal. What isn't normal (and should I be panicking?) is that I'm not.

Admittedly, I normally do in order to help my sensory sensitivity - I avoid town entirely in December and buy things irl so it all has to be done in October and November or online.

Not really; I've noticed Christmas stuff come to stores around the same time as every year.

The store where I work has been having Christmas displays up, even during Halloween season. Christmas season does seem to start earlier every year, but especially this year because it's been rough for everybody.

My kids decided to do Christmas early so I put mini Christmas trees in their bedroom.

That's how it is here in the US. People start preparing for holidays earlier & earlier every year. The Hallmark Channel started playing Christmas movies in the beginning of October. Me & my girlfriend complain about that when we see commercials for them. She likes holiday stuff but she complains more than me about em starting earlier. I never really been into holiday stuff other than getting out of school & presents as a kid & I do like some of the food & a few of the shows. I do like some of the Christmas songs but I do not like the traditional 1s. The same 20 traditional songs are covered by two thousand different artists. I listen to a bit of comedy music so I do like the novelty Christmas songs like I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas & Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer & I do listen to some of the novelty & comedy Christmas songs throughout the year. Working 3 holiday seasons at WalMart would of made me quit liking the holidays if I liked em when I started working there.

Gotta start it early so stores won't be as crowded and increased online shopping is stretched out.

Either put baby powder on them, or baby oil. 8)
