When I was in school what I hated was when it was raining because I would have to go to the hall with hundreds of screaming and noisy children. I would sometimes end up in tears holding my ears closed to try to block out the many sounds. It wasn't so much the volume of one excited kiddie. It was that so many were noisy at the same time that I could not cope with it.

Even today I hate it when in large halls when people start to talk at the same time and there are many voices in a "Voice drone". I can't really cope well with this.

But the rain!

Actually I LOVE the rain. Ok, the getting wet part is not pleasant especially when ones clothes rub. But the rain allows me to have the beach or the castle to myself.
When I used to work on the railways the rain made people greatful. They did not seem happy about it, but I was because people were less likely to give me any issues.

I find the rain EXCITING! I love to watch floods of water coming down the lane and into the stream that starts to resemble a burst dam torrent! It is exciting! I am in extacy at the scene!

And I have found a new LOVE! It is called the "Umbrella". I can go out in the rain and enjoy without getting too wet! A MARVELOUS invention that I hardly ever used in the past as I living around here it tends to be a womens thing... But I am using one and it is brilliant! BUT, I tend to use them around and about in the countryside. I tend not to use them in a town as I am too scared I might bump into someone, but when I am on my own or with my Mum down a footpath, and as long as it is not windy, the umbrella is pure JOY!!

I LOVE THE RAIN! :D

It doesn't rain much here but when it does it's the most wonderful thing in the universe

I'm 75% pro rain.

I typically find the noise relaxing (unless it's falling on a metal roof or something noisy). I like that it dims the outside fireball's rays, making my eyes more at ease. And I can enjoy briefly being out in the summer rain, if I can change out of the wet clothes immediately afterwards.

The times I don't like rain are when it's really cold outside and I have to walk in it. And sometimes when I have to drive in it and it's coming down so hard that visibility becomes and issue (or the super fast wiper blades annoy my ears).

I listen to rainforest recordings when I study. I love the sound of it, I feel sort of really safe somehow.

Opposite for me.

When I grew out of jumping in puddles, it became less fun.

Same years later when I grew out of building snowmen.

I hate ice most.

I love the rain as long as I'm not out in it and getting soaked :)

It helps me to sleep at night. That's one good thing about the rain.

Ditto.

Dog V4 gives me a disgusted look if he's sent up the garden to chase nothing and it's raining.

My next door neighbour when I was a kid was named Lorraine.
For many years, I thought her name was 'The Rain'.

I like the rain, except in the summer when it's meant to be hot and dry, although I like heavy rain showers you get in the summer.

In the winter I prefer it raining than freezing cold. Even at my old job when I used to have to get up early in the morning, I'd prefer walking in the rain than walking in fog, snow and ice.

Rain by the Beatles...

This is one of my favourite Beatles songs
has a very twangy jangley Epiphone Casino sound to it, as well as that kind of Indian influenced
psychedelic

imagine must have been really mind blowing when smoking pot or dropping acid in the 60s
just before the beatles went off on their full psychedelic adventure

I am sure you can hear the prominent influence that the Beatles have had over Oasis
in this song alone.... as the sun Shine............... s

I have mixed feelings about the rain. It depends on the situation of where & when it is raining. Rain can be very useful during a drought but raining enough to flood your home & buisness is a b!tch to deal with. Thankfully my parents never flooded but I've known some people who been through that. My mom's a retired teacher & the school she taught at was in an area that had various floods. Her school never flooded while she was there but some of her work colleagues & some of her students had that happen to them. My dad works in construction(well he just officially retired) & he's worked on some homes that flooded. What bothered me most about the rain when I lived with my parents is that it was not uncommon for us to lose power &/or cable & internet during bad storms. That problem was not cuz of the rain thou, it was the wind & lightning & our sh!tty electric company that considered our area one of their lowest priorities. We were one of the most likely to lose power & among some of the most likely to get it back last. Watching TV, playing video-games & later spending time on computer were my main interests & hobbies which of corse require electricity & cable &/or internet. Where I live now I don't think we will get any rain for a few months now due to the temp being too cold to rain. The temp outside is like one degree rite now. We had a blizzard a day or so ago. At least we almost never lose power here or cable & net :D

I like it for the garden and it keeps the river nice and clean. Not so much with flash floods that wash the roads out.Very nice to go to sleep with under a cozy blanket. The best is a rain that breaks a drought, everything smells fresh and clean afterwards.
