Went downtown to Waterfront just for the hell of it. WAY too much traffic on the roads - bumper to bumper - considering we have stay at home orders and people are not to be mixing households At All until at least January 8th. Should have been clear roads and smooth sailing. Jerks. At least traffic was flowing smooth at or above the speed limit on the highway the whole way home. 8) New winter gloves kept my hands dry & toasty warm, too! Thanks Santa! :D

Have you tried the Scrambler? I'm a sucker for euro bikes, but lately I've been nerding out on the Desmosedici motors the most.

Nope - haven’t ridden my brothers bike and he hasn’t ridden mine.

I did sit on a Scrambler at the motorcycle show a couple years ago at my twin brothers reco. That’s how I knew it fit and Why I bought my bimmer - cross referenced on cycle-ergo.com and found the BMW frame geometry puts my frame within 1 degree of the ride angles of the Scrambler - same same = good fit @ a fraction of the price And I can get collector plates and save big on insurance.

Besides a few dirt bikes years ago, and the riding school bikes, my brothers wife’s Honda CBF ~600? I borrowed for a week is the only other bike I’ve ridden.

Both of these bikes are the same 75hp, but the Ducati is 100lbs lighter. My brother weighs about 35-45lbs more than me though so the difference is Huge.. although gearing is probably different, and mine is shaft drive his chain I think, not sure on torque spec comparos.

Maybe someday I’ll buy a bigger/different bike; but I’d like to have another/more motorcycles vs a different motorcycle lol - problem becomes where to store them.. might have to twist my friends arm and get some parking spaces in one of his warehouses that he’s going to rent out for parking supercars. 8) (might be in my dreams tho.. space = $)

Noooo idea what a “Desmosedici” engine is ? :? Is that what style the Ducati is? Or is that Italian for “This is why a regular service interval maintenance appointment costs over $1,200.00” ??

What’s so funny? :?

Thx! It Was a good final ride! Especially since I hadn’t been out for over a month - was a very smooth comfortable ride considering that. Felt like I’d been on the bike almost every day - which is good. 8)

I should probably get on a wait list for a road test and then do some technical practicing & go for my full licence sooner rather than later.

Perhaps Canadians don't use that term, "riding bïtch." I thought the joke was clever. Jeez.

Do you not find it hypocritical to complain about traffic that you were contributing to?

I’ve ridden passenger on my older brothers old gold wing when I went to buy this bike. Other than that I’ve never been a passenger. I ride my own. And have never had a passenger - I don’t have a full license yet so it’s illegal for me to have a passenger.

No idea how common that phrase is or isn’t here. I know what it means, but it’s not something I’ve ever heard anyone actually say in my life.

Not at all. It’s like I said to my twin brother while stopped at a light: I could understand if all these people were out for motorcycle rides due to the warm weather day and no rain, but they’re not - they’re out in cars racing to liquor stores before they close early and then going to NYE dinners & parties they’re not supposed to be having at all because we have Public Health Orders not to mix households At All until at least January 8th. The roads should be been clear with the exception of joyriders like us cruising around on social distancing machines. 8)

Ah, valves powered open and powered closed=more power. I was wondering how they managed it simply.

More into blind head and other side valve machines myself.

100% of this is beyond my mechanical knowledge. Not a topic I’ve ever really learned much about. At all.

I've been messing around with mechanical things since I was small. A small bit of education/translation for you; Blind heads are 1920's or earlier before they were able to make engines with detachable cylinder heads. Side valve is better know as a flat head over there.

Here are some of the weird machines and ideas that were around before 1931; I wish I'd been around then!
