Well my favorite was probably Lego...and that childhood hobby was rekindled five years ago when I got a Lego lighthouse set for Christmas (just so happens I love lighthouses too). Safe to say it made an impression. I don't care how many candles are on my cake. The playful spirit of my youth won't ever burn out. So since receiving that gift I've been collecting various sets..including the haunted house and roller coaster, with some architecture sets in between (probably my favorite Lego category) . Love getting my building geek on!

^ Traven - that is a cool scooter.
When i was very young I had a doll called "Bippo" he was my other self - my mother would make him clothes out of thiings that I out grew - the sleeve from the right arm would make him a nice shirt - the piping from the wrist would make a collar and the left sleeve would be made into his sleeve and even add a shirt pocket. She also made him pants - so Bippo also dressed like me. He was entirely made of soft cloth except for his head which was a kind of rubbery plastic, and he had eyes that would automatically close so he could take a nap with me. Naps were very important. My name started with "B" and so did his. My younger sister is 4 years younger than me so for 4 years I was the smallest - except for Bippo - he was smaller than me - and that was important to me. The shirt I remember him in the most was dark blue and soft cotton (or similar soft material). "B" for Blue, and "B" for Bippo. My brother would tease me about bring my "baby" places - Bippo went everywhere with me - but I always insisted "He is NOT a baby! He is a little man!" - it seemed obvious to me - I didn't know why it wasn't obvious to other people too.
As an adult my mother explained that "Bippo" was a "Madam Alexander" doll. I think he was bought in Germany originally. I believe he was subtlely replaced one or more times.
I don't have him any more - and don't know what happened to him. I did and internet search and this looks like him:
. . . but that outfit is awful. My mother made him much better clothes that that.

I still own one.
I liked "space toys" too.
I liked "Micronauts" when I was a kid:
They were about three inches tall - a lot more "playable" than the 12 inch GI Joe type "action figures" and such. The plastic hands could hold things - and hold on to string - like kite string turned into a Micronaut ropes course. They had vehicles which were expensive and only available (to me) as Christmas presents. The little "L" shaped pieces in the picture allowed the Micronauts to attach into the vehicles by attacking into a socket in the middle of their backs - but they also made handy "Jet Packs" for adventure. The hard plastic figures could get wet without getting damaged so they were fun for inside and outside play.

My teddy bear that I got for my first Christmas. I fell in love with him straight away and I still love him to this day. He lives in my bed where he can be kept safe and warm, as he's seen better days.
I also had other favourite toys I loved.
A toy kitchen with plastic coloured pots and pans that stood in my bedroom until I got to about age 10. I think I got it for my forth birthday.
A toy houseboat I got when I was 5 for Christmas.
A dolls house with lots of rooms and furniture and little people.
A plastic moulded board with a circular traintrack on and all the Thomas the Tank Engine trains that went with it.
A Barbie set that came with a shopping cart and tiny little shopping items, and a baby Barbie that sat in the seat on the cart. I also had a white Barbie car. It was so cool.
Polly Pockets. I had loads of them and I'd make a little town with them. I had a church and a school and a supermarket and everything.
I wasn't too keen on dolls, they frightened me (except for Barbie dolls, they weren't so creepy). I preferred teddy bears. I'd dress my poor teddy bear up in girl doll's clothes and put him in my toy stroller. I don't think he liked it very much, as he was meant to be a boy. "How dare you dress me up like a sissy DOLL?!" he probably thought.
