If humans descended from monkeys, why are there still monkeys?

Humans did not descend from monkeys.  Humans, monkeys, and apes descended from a common ancestor which no longer exists (except in fossil form).

The geologic layers of rock were laid down in Noah's Flood.

Some Creationists say that dinosaurs died in the Flood.

But some say that Noah rescued dinosaurs along with all of the other animals, and that dinosaurs continued to live alongside humans in historic times (but were called "dragons"), and didnt become extinct until a couple centuries ago...OR are still around (in Loch Ness, and in Lake Champlain).

It's like expecting an explosion to build a perfectly assembled 747.
