Who's that? He looks like Bob Newhart.

Whoa really? I've never seen Big Bang Theory but I assumed Newhart was dead.
I used to watch him on a sitcom called Newhart in the 80s.

It's not like me to recognize anyone especially actors.

I've seen the ads or intros with the song and it bugs me.
I think that main actor guy is pretty hot though.

I saw him on an Ancestry show.

I am skeptical of someone who presents themselves as a "science guy" in popular culture, from the outset.

Oh come on, it's for a children's show about learning about science!

He's since gone way beyond the children's show, but that's the origin of the name. And even if it wasn't he really is a scientist. How is calling oneself a scientist different from calling oneself the science guy? Which is meant to be silly and funny. And he completely has the goods and is the real deal.

When we were kids, he sparked my brother’s interest in science. I have a lot of respect for people who get kids interested in science or who seek to make science more accessible for average people.

As adults, my brother and I both appreciated Nye’s debate with Ken Ham.

I’ve not read his book Undeniable yet, but it’s on my reading list.

That's why I said he was hot.
