How would you describe your favorite attire.
Mine is western. Because of swelling resulting from my thyroid, I can no longer wear cowboy boots. I would if I could. My preference in boots is the not so gaudy boots that don't try to make everyone look at them. That said, I wouldn't mind a pair of boots made from sting rays because those are pretty much resistant to punctures of any kind, including rattlesnake bits. However, the uppers are still leather so it doesn't stop everything.
A western belt or suspenders. I actually prefer suspenders, but a good pair that shows you off is hard to find.
Many years ago, I had to go to a meeting at a major law firm. As I was leaving about 6:30 to 7:00 pm, I saw a lawyer (I think he was a lawyer) walk out of the law firm's doors and head off down the escalator or elevator. His suit was a perfect fit and the suspenders he was wearing was very much a major part of the suit. If you want to look like a real alpha male, wear suspenders.
Of course, a long sleeve western shirt with pearl buttons is part of it. I have two favorite long sleeve western shirts that I save for special occasions. One is gray scale patter that looks great. The other is a western style white shirt that has thin, easy to overlook ridges of white fabric running vertically around it.
And a bolo tie. I love bolo ties. I haven't worn a regular tie in years.
I have one bolo tie design that I've been looking for but never found. I suspect that nobody has ever made a bolo tie with a Lutheran Rose. It is easy to find bolo ties with a rose design, but not a Luther Rose.
Finally, a hat. I have a straw hat for summer and a fur hat for winter. I intend to get a cheaper fur hat for normal winter wear the next time I go to the city and have time to run over to a western store and save my current fur hat for every day winter use. My fur hat is a 7X resistol that is quite old. My father bought it for about $50 when it was brand new but rarely wore it. After he passed away, I started wearing it. The hat is silberbelly in color. I'm planning on getting a black hat for everyday winter wear.
Also, the modern fashion for cowboy hats is to curl up the sides. My preference is a more classical style with a much flatter brim. It is not 100% flat, but pretty close. It's a style that the older ranch families around here love to see.
I also have a campaign hat but none of the brass that goes on it. If I could find some cool looking non-military brass, I might start wearing it again.
I usually wear this with a faded denim jacket. My current denim jacket is getting pretty old but it is holding up good. I've thought about getting something like a western frock coat instead. The nice thing about the denim jacket is that it has inside pockets and I carry my western style wallet in it. This kind of wallet doesn't fold the bills at all -- they are kept flat inside the wallet. In a pocket, it would be too easy for a pick pocket to steal because its size would not keep in entirely in a pants pocket. It's kind of like a trucker's wallet, but without the chain. Of course, a good executive wallet without western designs on it would be good, too.
I used to also have a wool overcoat with an optional wool lining for the inside that I really liked, but I haven't seen it for years. It was already pretty old when it was given to me by someone from Oklahoma. It was really great at shredding rain and at keeping you warm in the winter time.
So there you have it. Ideally boots, suspenders, western shirt with pearl snap buttons, bolo tie, and fur hat.
So what is your favorite attire?

"Classic Retirement" -- Ballcap, tee-shirt, shorts (boxers or briefs underneath), flip-flops.
I'll trade the tee for a Hawai'ian shirt if guests come over.

I'm in my 70s, but haven't retired yet. My intentions are to retire the day before I turn 100. That way I can have a big retirement party on Friday and a big 100th birthday party on Saturday.
I suspect that I won't make it that long, though.
Just out of curiosity, can you get a Hawaii'ian shirt with pearl snap buttons?

In terms of style, mid-Victorian gentleman's jacket, well-fitted, wide lapels, bottle green, black, or burgundy, good supple material. Well-fitting black or check trousers and dark shoes. Maybe a striped blazer. Gaudy waistcoat. But in practice, whatever's most cheap, convenient and comfortable without looking like a complete dickhead.
I actually don't know.
The usual shape?
I might as well get a long shirt -- as long as it's not shoulderless -- and leggings that fit's the shirt's color scheme underneath it.
Preferably plain. Patterns not as loud. No logos/characters/writing/etc.
That's what my wardrobe is composed of; something really as simple as those two pieces of the ensemble.
Another layer would be optional.
Preferably following the weather instead. Jackets, scarves, etc.
Shoes...
Doesn't matter as long as it's comfortable -- color schemes only mattered if fashion is paid attention to.
Open toes with no socks? Well, my toes usually are manicured so no issues with that, too.
I prefer my bags to be able to carry something lightweight, less theft prone and definately durable and waterproof.
I can always order between green, black or brown large lensed glasses frames.
If only contacts aren't so expensive and troublesome...
My hair... I can always just choose to let it be. But usually I have it tied on my back with a silky scrunchie.
Could choose more decors if I ever desired it, but for now I settle with color schemes of green, white, brown and/or black.
And I got my black digital watch and fidget ring. Usually I only wear to go outside.
So yeah.
My favorite attires would very much be my own everyday clothes.
Sometimes I'm so lazy, that it's practically a lounge wear that I can appropriately to go outside or go to work with.
All of it are just as comfortable.
Just the way I like it.
The styles itself is secondary, but that's way easier for me to attain or rectify than finding my priority that is a comfortable fit consist of weight, pressure and exposure.
And only times I don't wear it is when I'm trying to 'conserve' those articles to last longer before doing laundry again by wearing an even more comfortable lounge wear to wear multiple times, fit for staying at home all day and sleeping in with or something to workout on.

It used to be black stovepipe jeans, 10up Doc Martens and a t-shirt and a leather jacket.
Since I stopped smoking I had to switch to black cargo pants and I can't afford Docs any more so it's zip up black work boots.
Even the cargo pants don't like my new thighs, so my favourite pants are now Swedish army issue Camo. They have tags on the zippers so you can use them with gloves, big pockets (but no back pocket) and expandable legs that would fit over ski boots.
Their only downside is that they clash with a lot of my T-shirts

One thing I found interesting was the description from a friend of mine in grad school in the 1970s about his undergraduate years at a university far to the north, almost in Canada.
According to him, on Friday nights (or maybe Saturday nights), the standard dress for him and his friends was a red union suit with levis and red suspenders, and hiking or construction boots.
So one year I dressed up like that on Halloween and told everyone that I was dressed as a Yankee.
For those who don't know what a red union suit is, it is a one piece full body underwear that is all red such as in the picture below:
They are really quite comfortable. I don't remember how, but mine got soaking wet once and mildewed badly, so I threw it away.
One thing they were good for was to sleep in on really cold nights. I generally prefer normal pajamas, though.

I have no idea what to wear, so I only wear really plain clothes, like a t shirt and a sweater if it's cooler and elastic waist or drawstring pants, usually black, and the same pair of black canvas sneakers. I would like to be more stylish but I wouldn't know where to begin or even where to find the clothes that I like -- if I knew what I like.

Sometimes it can be difficult to decide what you like best.
When I worked in a big city, I enjoyed wearing suits and ties daily. Then the world changed and I reluctantly changed with it. In my last big city job, nobody else in that entire company would wear a suit and tie. I still did, but not daily. At my next job, too, I was one of the few who would wear a suit to work.
One thing that was interesting to me was at a cousin's funeral a year or two ago. Only one person and the funeral was dressed up in a suit and tie. He did look pretty snazzy. Most took little care in how they dressed. I was wearing my dress white pearl button shirt, a bolo tie, my best levis, western shoes, a denim jacket, and my good wool hat and was probably the second best dressed one at the funeral.
One thing that was nice about suit and ties was that we didn't have to wonder if we were dressed appropriately. These days, many people cannot seem to figure out their preferred style.
If I were to retire and move to a more eastern city, I would probably drop the western style and go to coats and ties.
I would still wear a hat, but probably a fedora instead of a cowboy hat. Or maybe a Stetson Open Road which is really a very stylish hat for both western and non-western style. I don't know, but I think that the detective on the right hand side of Oswald in the following photo is wearing an Open Road hat. This was back in 1963 and so it might have been called something else then for all I know.

I don't know. Currently I'm trying to move from male and boring clothes to more mixed and also more interesting clothes, so I'm still figuring it out.
The one thing I can say is I hate suits. It's fine if you like suits, I just don't like what they represent - the idea that society can tell you what to wear in any given situation. I think people should be allowed to dress how they want to. I also find suits uncomfortable. If someone told me to wear one, I'd probably wear a dress just to piss them off. I love ties though. I don't know why.

I like shorts! They're comfy and easy to wear!

When my town still had a fast food hamburger place, I used to go there for supper two or three nights a week. On several occasions, I saw grown, but younger, men who I knew come in wearing either pajamas or sleeping pants. These were people like oil field workers as well as cowboys and other farm and ranch workers.
