Curiosity as to what skills are required for volunteering for search and rescue. Also, curiosity as to what schooling is like/required for becoming an EMT.

At very least, I should like to look into a place to learn basic first aid, CPR and the like, sooner than later. I’m out and about on foot a lot, in the desert, so there’s no real reason not to know such things. Many of the people I’ve observed walking around town are either homeless or elderly, and probably more likely to get heatstroke or have other medical emergencies than the rest.
