Aunt Blabby, what is your interpretation of this dream I had the other night?

While I do acknowledge that many are getting tired of me posting about dreams that feature my NT girlfriend, this one was different. I was dreaming that my GF and I were at the Oscars and we both were nominated in our respective categories. She was wearing a beautiful blue dress that women commonly wore in the flapper culture of the 1920s and I was wearing a business suit and tie. {My GF was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay and me for Best Original Screenplay} We both won and we kissed in front of all who were present. Understandably, gossip shows saw this as a reason to ruin our reputations and after the ceremony ended, we hopped into a van where my GF's roommate was the getaway driver. The dream then cut to us arriving back in Portland to a hero's welcome, despite local media outlets taking note from the a-hole gossip shows which in turn, began a fun chase with the three of us laughing so hard.

Even weirder, my late father and my GF's late father showed up at the end. They cussed out the media outlets and the gossip shows, telling them that my GF and I winning at the Oscars was a mistake. Before I woke up, our dads looked at me and my GF and told us to keep writing.

In reality, my GF is pursuing a psychology major and I am an English major.

the dream could just be reflecting waking fantasies of having a life where you could leave all the people who disrespect you, in the dust.

I dreamt I was back at work in the hospital, but the main difference was that one of the nurses that mostly ignored me in real life, in the dream took a big shine to me and wanted to marry me. :o

I seemed to have composed an original piece of music in my sleep even though I cant read a note of music!

Dreamt I was hanging with a friend who used to do the show next to my time slot on the public access radio station. He now lives in Guatemala of all places. So I dont see him in person IRL anymore. But in the dream we were hanging for some reason. An awesome song came off the playlist on his I-pod. Basically instrumental, it a had simple refrain - a guy singing "fly with Columbus fly with Columbus, I want you to come fly with columbus..".

Very upbeat modern rock sound with an infectious beat, and a techno flavor. But it would alternate with loud and quiet segments (like any good song would). Synthesizer, drum and base,-with whoooshes on the synthesizers.Vaguely like "the Happy Song" by Pharrell Williams in both the vocals, and in the high tech instrumentation. But a differently structured song.

Thought it was cool as hell. Demanded from my buddy "who DOES that song?". He shrugged and said "Uncle...." . I couldnt recall the rest of the name when I awoke. But it was a very humorous name( like "Uncle Kracker', but not that). Thought to myself "I GOTTA have it". Couldnt wait to either go to the CD store, or try to download this "Fly with Columbus" song.

When I awoke I figured that I must have been remembering an existing song that I had heard sometime on the radio,or some place

But when I googled I could not find any song entitled "fly with Columbus".

So I guess that I am a composer, and dont know it! Lol!

The song and dream were based on my positive childhood view of Columbus the man. Not my current unsantized view of him today which is less than positive.

The song seemed to be an invitation to adventure, and exploring things, and to go boldly where no man has gone before. So that was probably the message of the dream itself.

now and then, either asleep in dreams or awake but in a sort of soporific reverie, I hear what I can describe only as "music of the spheres" which is like what native americans might have described as "the sound of many waters" - a heavenly chorale of unearthly size and harmony and sonority in an infinite space, a sound unlike anything I've heard on earth, though the closest that comes to it is some indian minimalist music or phillip glass, but those are pale imitations.

I dreamt that I was sleeping with my sister (we are aged 63 and 65; haven't slept together in decades). Bed was top floor in cousin's house. It was delightful in the morning. In real life, my radio was talking about swimming Olympics. In dream, I realized if I go before my sister wakes, I can swim in the pool in the back yard. I hurried and was disappointed that the pool was not Olympic sized but I had a good swim anyway. Bright, happy dream.

that would be me also, when I am tired, and close to a soporific reverie.

what's really weird is that if there is a fan or a/c running in the background, or an open window with the wind blowing, I can hear it superimposed on that background sound.

Ya sure your just not experiencing the phenomenon known as "sound matrixing"? Hearing seemingly important sounds in a jumble of noise.

I don't know, in that I've heard the same sounds while dreaming.

Interesting! Is it the same sound every time?

it is variations on the "voice of a million" heavenly chorale.
