Yea, every alcohol free drink I've tried including Guinness tastes nasty. I'd rather have Schweppes slimline tonic with a splash of Gordon's gin. Tastes like a grown up drink and you can control the alcohol content yourself.

That's what I mean. Lager does not taste nice so why drunk it if there is zero alcohol in it. It makes absolutely no sense at all to me.

As long as I live I will never understand why anyone would drink alcoholic free drinks that taste like alcohol. I'd rather have a glass of pop if I'm not gonna have alcohol

Depends how much people like the taste of certain drinks, but not the effects of alcohol on them.. like, I was over at my friends place and he stopped drinking a year ago for a minor surgery and then just decided not to drink anymore. He had like 10 different non-alcoholic beers in his beer fridge. I tried one of the handful of different IPA's he had and it really truly tasted like a decent IPA.

I can see someone who drank IPA's all the time cutting back or cutting out alcohol wanting to have a variety of those around to drink, maybe even to keep the same routine ritual of a beer after work or whatever. I'd WAY rather drink one of those than pop. Pop is way too sweet. I only drink a can of pop maybe once every 1-3 years. Usually I'll have a Dr. Pepper. One time recently I made an ice cream float with Coca-Cola.

But some of the "near beers," are pretty good tasting. I'd probably just go for a bubly (fruit flavoured soda water) for 40 cents a can vs. buy de-alcoholized beer, but I can see the market for it as more people quit/limit drinking for health and lifestyle reasons.

Had a beer and a sip of whiskey earlier, poured an ounce of raki - might not drink it all before I sleep. Been drinking a bit much and having a few tokes this past week. Cutting down/out as I have way too many things to do that require me to get up in the morning and get things done soooo ya. Good to be busy, can’t be drunk/stoned/lazy.

I seem incapable of drinking my pints slowly at the pub. It's all down to my anxiety i think

Will be a wet Thanksgiving. No Turkey, friend bringing over some strong beers and snacking food.Cheese, crackers , stuff like that.I’m relieved I don’t have to cook anything.
It will be nice outside, 60 and sunny so we will sit on the porch , drink ,smoke some weed ,and enjoy life.

I'll be having vodka tonight with some sparkling water. I bought a big bottle of vodka because the price per mL of alcohol was lower, but now I can't stop myself from having one or two shots every night. I have better self control with cans of beer, because opening a whole new can seems like a huge commitment compared to just pouring out a bit of vodka.

Went to the hopscotch festival last night in Vancouver and sampled a bunch of different scotches, whiskeys, gin, vodka, absinthe, liqueurs, cocktails, ciders etc. Had an obscenely expensive ($15 + tax & tip, like $18.xx) rectangular slice of duck pizza at the end of the night.

Most I’ve drank in ages. Probably about 8 drinks worth. Took the train to avoid driving. Was a good time - the best part was getting to talk to some of the owners of some BC distilleries as they were there repping their own products. 8)

That sounds like fun! That pizza is obscenely expensive, but the price sounds typical for Vancouver.

I'm curious, where do they usually have these kinds of festivals? I spent some time in Vancouver, but I was mostly stuck inside during the pandemic and didn't have a chance to explore.

No, typical is around $4 with tax for a slice these days. This was event pricing and the vendor had to pay $1500 to be there for 2 days.

It was at the PNE Forum. Old and kinda ghetto, but it still works. Been to a few concerts there.

Wasn't gonna have a drink at all but decided to have a splash of spiced rum at the tail end of the night - a night cap, I suppose.
