I wish my brain came with a debug mode.

All that glitters is not gold. England glittered for me at one time. I realized that was stardust. I was starstruck because Britain is where my favourite bands and performers were from in the 60s.

I guess that I've gone from being a Mod to being an adult over the past 2 and a half years.

What breed is Arthur? I had a Siamese, Samantha, who loved water. My second Siamese, Prince, was somewhat interested, although he was nowhere near as fanatic as Samantha about it. Siamese cats are said to love water and, judging by Samantha, I believe it.

Arthur is a ginger cat with some white on him. We got him from a shelter, not sure of breed specifics beyond that - I suppose it's possible he has some Siamese in his ancestry. But he views just about everything as a toy, I suppose it isn't surprising that it's no different with water. He is also usually completely unperturbed by loud noises, and will even go out of his way just to make a big noise, like tipping something over or walking across crinkly paper. He's also very vocal - he makes the most adorable little trills. He's very different from what I'm used to in a cat, but that's okay - I love him for who he is.

A funny joke coming from my brother: My mom was telling us the results of her blood test this week. She had a high score on something to do with her cardiovascular system. Normal range was 1-2, but my mom had a 3.1 score. So, my brother said "Oh, it's because you have too much pi" My mom didn't get the joke until my brother explained it and I thought it was hilarious.

I made a very similar joke in a dinner in NYC. I ordered a "Slice of tau" waiter said "Huh? slice of Pie?"
"no" I said "Who orders half a slice of pie?".

he didn't get it either.

I assumed we were the bugs, unless we're merely a feature.

Dear general population,

Yes, male poodles exist (how do you think more purebred poodles are made?), and yes, my dog is one.

Poor Merlin gets referred to as "she" by so many random strangers.

And yes, the cat is named Arthur to go with the dog's name of Merlin

It's very quiet in my town while out for a stroll. Expect for fireworks going off. But I mean little activity in town. I love this place. The old fire station. The old police station that used to be city hall. The old Carnegie library. The big old brownstone ymca. The place is so Mayberry to me. Mayberry by the sea that is.
