Might I borrow some of those hot coals, too? 8O

Hot coals have the tendency to be bad for the skin of hands.

They're for my brain today, as needed. Perhaps I will cauterise myself.

That doesn't sound too good.

I'm not going to say what it reminds me of...but it has to do with what happened with Rose Kennedy because her family was ashamed of her.

You have nothing to be ashamed for.

I don't know the story of Rose Kennedy or what happened to her. Likewise, my mother doesn't know the story of me because we barely speak.

By the sounds of it, I shouldn't ask you to clarify about the Kennedys.

I have a feeling that I am the only one who laughs at the purposely weird stuff I write. Which is fine.

Rose Marie (Rosemary) Kennedy might have been mildly intellectually disabled. Her family was ashamed of her; they kept her hidden from public view. She was able to write in her diary, and to attend social functions.

Around the time she was 21, it was decided that she should be given a lobotomy. This involves, to a certain extent, a cauterization of the brain.

The lobotomy made her into a virtual vegetable, and she was institutionalized until she passed away about 10 years ago when she was in her 80s.

Jeeeez -- that's awful. I didn't intend to make that type of association with my comment. I think you know I don't really want or need a lobotomy, that I don't have an intellectual disability or take those types of meds, and that my father and brother thought the world of me without shame.

RIP Rose

I know you didn't mean to.

I just don't like self-flagellation.

I sensed that somebody was making you feel you were worse than you actually are.

And, in a sense, you were wanting to abuse yourself.

Then again, maybe I should have seen the "absurdist" aspect of it---and how people need the "absurdist" aspect to survive all the crap.

(i.e., I was making mountains out of molehills).
