I think Disney is getting too big not only for its own good, but also everyone else's.

Like many, I'll still watch Pixar movies, movies by Marvel Studios, and movies from Lucas Film, but why is Disney trying to prove itself that it's not a greedy cash cow?

IMO, X-Men: Dark Phoenix could be the first major flop for the X-Men franchise once it is fully incorporated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

I need ppl around me to give me structure and reassurance and guidance,
yet I can’t stand socializing.

Here in the US we don't really do "meat pies" other than things like chicken pot pie, but the other day in Walmart I came across these. :D

I wonder if they were the same kind you guys have in the UK :chin:

I just googled natchitoches meat pies and they look more like a pasty than a pie. In fact if you asked anyone in the UK what the picture was they'd say a pasty

Yep, looks like a chilli beef pasty or something, except that the meat pasties here (except for Cornish pasties) are usually flat. Looks delicious though. Also, pasties really are not all that different to pies, just different shape and different pastry

Russia, Ukraine, Belarus

One of my special interests in the 1980s was Ukraine. I'm still very much interested in what goes on there now, even though I'm not Ukrainian.

What explains my interest in countries I have no ethnic ties to? Okay, my interest in Russia these days is tied to a man named Denis, who plays tennis.

Speaking of Russia, I remember seeing a documentary Russia:Land of the Tsars which though was 4hrs long chronicled the history of the entire nation including what is modern day Ukraine & Belarus, very interesting indeed as my great-grandfather on my mom's side was able to write Russian.

I have an interest in Asian culture, mostly Japanese and Chinese.

And when I say Japanese culture I don't mean anime and manga. I can't stand most of those! They don't reflect the true culture of Japan at all!

I'm more interested in things like the traditional kimono or modern trends like ganguro and lolita fashions, the onne bugeisha warriors, the samurai, the shinobi and kunoichi, the geisha girls and the modern equivalents known as "hostesses", the yakuza mafia, the beautiful flowers they grow such as cherry blossoms, the various dolls and masks they have, shintoism, the monsters in Japanese folklore such as the onryo and ningyo, the rebuilding of their country after World War 2, etc.

There's so much to love about the country besides their silly cartoons and comic books! They are a beautiful country with a rich culture and strong, intelligent, and amazing people. 8)

Btw I have a thing for slavic men. They're so sexy and manly! I love their accents and deep voices.

Italian men are sexy too!

Does anyone else wish that years were cyclical? (or cyclical in the mainstream Judeo-Christian western world)
I know it's silly but I always get sad this time of year because for eg 2018 is almost gone and I don't like things being gone forever.
I don't mind spring going, my favourite season, because it will be back the next year. Same with May, my favourite month.
