sometimes there is no effective alternative to overdesigning/overbuilding. in that respect, there isn't any such thing as overdesigning and overbuilding, one is merely designing and building to meet high requirements.

Yes you should have. Couldn't you have asked the staff in wherever your appointment was for help?

I hope no other creeps try hitting on you at all, let alone persistently, but next time any creep won't leave you alone, maybe threaten to ring the police? Or yell at the creep to "F*** off" as loud as you can?

Apparently HMRC Inland Revenue want to give me a refund of £650. That would be lovely, but I'm not gullible. That email might as well have had a massive fancy header saying "Phishing Scam"

I've never even dealt with the Inland Revenue, haven't had to pay taxes yet  soft c**t scammers, it's like they're not even really trying

In Wrong Planet, the people are represented by three separate but equally important groups: The police that investigate crimes, the district attorneys that prosecute the offenders, and the ferret. These are their stories.

...or is the legal system structured differently here?

I don't know where else to post this, so I hope this is OK:

I'm going to be shutting off my PM for a day, or possibly more, because all of my mailboxes are totally full to capacity
(Yes, like 10 000 messages -- I keep everything!) 8O 8O 8O

I need to sort through them and purge many messages before rearranging my mailboxes and starting fresh. It's hard to do this when new messages come in and go out as quickly as I delete older ones.

I know I owe responses to a few of you -- I'll write asap! At this point even my Sent file is full at 1700. I don't want the system to start deleting things on its own so I want to do this systematically before that happens. If anyone sees that I've had to delete old messages, this is why. No offence taken!

Bye from PM for now. I hope it won't take as long as I fear!

PS Thanks to feeli0 for your advice on how to do this a little more quickly!

Isabella

Back them up first , if you're a digital hoarder.

I'm saving some of them to my computer in "Print View".
There's no way to just transfer / forward them to my real email, is there?

imagine NOT backing up all your messages

oh. the horror.

cats still hanging out in the driveway. they like to lay on the trunk and hood of the 30 year old camry. the black one especially. i notice that the grey girl is still more reserved.

bought rear brake pads and rotors for the lexus. $146 for everything and they'll be in this afternoon. surprisingly inexpensive, i've never changed them on this car before and i haven't had the best luck getting all brake parts to match so i'm hopin' for the best. with rotors and pads alone, though, i've had success.

it'll probably be done by tomorrow

You can export them as CSV or XML files. Mark them and the export button is at the bottom of the page ( I think you can only do 1 page at a time so it will be a chore with 10,000 PM's you social butterfly :P )

The export one seems to put everything into bizarre code. :( It doesn't work and certainly won't do more than one message at a time anyway. I have to open the ones I want to save one at a time in print view, and then save them to my desktop also one message at a time. Let's just say I'm not saving very many! Sorry folks but this is becoming a mass purge! :?

I just checked and will do only one page of messages at a time , I exported them as XML and opened them in Wordpad , obviously they don't look pretty as thing are broken into tags. But the message is there. So if you have important messages it will do it.

Thanks, but mine is on Mac. I can select many at a time and click Export but they come out all in code virtually unreadable (even one at a time). If I go to print view one message at a time I can save them.
