I wonder if he worried about that back circa '99.
I've never liked songs about partying or money, whether it's rock, hip-hop, whatever. I seem to like most music that gritty and dark and nihilistic, whether it's boom-bap or crust punk or death metal or industrial or horrorcore, etc.

The only good thing about a mind-numbing menial job is it gives me lots of time to focus on and pick apart aspects of language; I'm kinda obsessed with linguistics and that usually fuels my need to write, whether it's rhymes or prose. I've got a novel that I'm slowing adding to as well, but it's on the back-burner for now.

That's cool that's you're working on a novel. I might try a short story myself someday. :)

It's basically just a project I've never given up on, it's been in work since I was in high school, with loads of world-building and other distractions done, since it was also intended as a DnD type RPG setting. When I give it more attention I might need to streamline it since it's more like a massive sprawling rat's nest of intertwined short-stories with a big plot in the background, but mostly focused on more mundane stories - kinda like if War and Peace and Song of Ice and Fire had a lovechild.

Unrelated:

i'm blow'n up, my freestyles make me a viral street performer
see me on world star, detonatin' a belt underneath my bomber

umm-blo-en-up - my-free-stylz-maek-me-a-vi-ral-street-pah-fahm-ah
see-me-on-world-stah - de-ton-ate-ina-belt-un-dah-neet-mah-baum-ah

Nikola Tesla was able to perform integral calculus in his head, which often lead his teachers to believe he was cheating.

Upon attaining comfortable employment once again, how 'wrong planet' will react without my 'complain-y-ness'.

I hate Jim Carrey but that scene depicts those who think too highly of themselves very well

And not all femme fatales are evil. She certainly wasn't! She was trying to rescue her husband.

Kind of like Yasuko in the game Yakuza 4. She was a femme fatale who went around murdering Japanese gangsters but only because she was desperate to free her brother from death row for a crime he did not commit.

Love can make ordinary women do extraordinary things. 8)

Given how Stan Lee has passed away maybe Ryan Reynolds can fill in the 'person who almost always cameo's [Fant4tic four exception on my mind] role with an ambivalent status a to whether it is actually one way or another Uatu the watcher or Deadpool. If they need a less studio deligation controversial character, Jennifer Walters can be the new likeable 4th wall wise-cracker with mixed degrees of Anne Hathaway awkwardness as Jenn and Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Elaine Benes humor and sensibility when both She-Hulk and Jenn.

Job searching s--ks.

Do they still?. I wonder if the Dalai Lama and related co. would do that often before being exiled?.

RoseThorn, hmmm, maybe I could write for the same reasons, as opposed to attempting to write songs that are relatable and/or cover world happenings and are what is considered 'good' from a societal and industry standard viewpoint (and failing miserably, due to my back then unimaginative one track minded approach, lack of intelligent writing techniques and understanding of such, and my constant worry of just looking like an ignorant miser who is clearly trying too hard and seems to have little to no grasp on the subject I write about, or even on reality in general, which to be fair I was, and still am but trying to change that, but I don't want anything I write to show that)

Sigh I miss writing lyrics, even though I often cringed at what I wrote

Hopefully things will be better when I finally find the motivation to start again, and hopefully I won't be stuck in thoughts only to end up writing absolute drivel like before
