Joanie Loves Chris Brown was taped in-front of a very uncomfortable studio audience.

Kids today mostly don't know what good music is. They are usually listening to rap. A lot of them will probably have an affected brain because there are studies out there that the type of music you listen to affects your brain as well. This rap music has some of the worst lyrics out of any music that you can basically find out there. A lot of it is materialism.
I'm sorry to hear you're unable to appreciate hip-hop.
That's okay it only implies to modern rap music with violent lyrics through. I am not attacking something like the Outkast which is perfectly fine.
I'm glad that you realize that a significant portion of hip-hop released in any year since the genre first emerged isn't violent, despite the existence of horrorcore and of gangsta/mafioso/trap type hip-hop, but that's not actually the angle my dissent is coming from.
I'm taking the position that hip-hop with transgressive lyrical themes is still absolutely filled with artistic merit, in the same way other musical genres with transgressive themes are (death metal or outlaw country, for example). When you say 'worst lyrics', perhaps in terms of content, although plenty of death metal delves even deeper into some of the same themes (a rap song about raping and murdering a person in graphic detail is more shocking than a death metal song with the same themes, and while both would almost certainly be released by 'underground' acts, the hip-hop track would be viewed as more shocking within that fanbase than the metal one. Compare how
Stripped, Raped and Strangled was received by Cannibal Corpse' fanbase to the shock generated by Immortal Technique's
Dance With The Devil which is debatably a tamer song in terms of lyrical content.
In terms of lyricism you'd be hard pressed to find a genre that's consistently on-par with underground hip-hop. Underground hip-hop uses imagery like how shred guitar players use widdly-widdlies - everywhere, all-the-time.
