Why do people on social media put IE next to posts and 'the people' put UK and I just read some guy from Israel put IL?

I mean I know it's countries but when did people start putting their countries next to whatever they say online?

I was going to write a piece about the many struggles and difficulties that autistic face when it comes to getting your foot in the door into the workplace as, well other scenarios;however, I chose not to do so, as since it would be on my social blog site, that in itself would make me appear to be someone whom constantly rants about injustices, which would be visibly seen by potential employer(s); therefore, I'll let someone else take that task.
