For the dog people, as there is some barking in the video!

This made me laugh:

:D How cute was the section with the puppy... totally not phased, or frightened. Was it a beagle, a foxhound, I couldn't tell?

I loved the bits where the puppet just turned its head and looked, instant spook effect, very funny.

I'd say beagle, but given how young the pup appears to be (<4 months I think), it's kind of hard to distinguish between the two.

When I was really young our family had a big white and black tom cat named Puss N' Boots. This was long before the fairy tale character became well known because of Shrek. I think we named him after a brand of cat food that was around at the time. Anyhow, I really loved this cat. When I was around four and on my way home after having my tonsils out, one of the things I said I was looking forward to was being with Puss N' Boots again. One day Puss, who was being chased by the neighbor's dog who would bloodily kill a cat if she got away with it, ran away from home and I was very upset. He was gone for I don't know long, a year or so maybe. During that time we had gotten a dog. Then one day close to Christmas Puss finally came home, actually I think my dad found him and brought him home. Puss had no signs of harm, he must have been taken in by someone else. But now we had a problem because of the new dog. I actually wrote a letter to Santa that year saying to please take the dog back because our cat had returned. :lol: But we ended up giving him away. Not just because of the dog, but also because my mom had gotten very allergic to cats. :(

So, I'm thinking of getting mice soon.

I'd avoid the kind called Japanese dancing mouse. I had one of those and we didn't get any contact with it. It didn't even react to being picked up. I've heard they have an ear problem that makes them dizzy and unbalanced, but I don't know if that's true. It's cruel if it is.
But there are other mice out there.

Gerbils, hamsters and guinea pigs are also nice rodent pets. Of the 3 you def get the most contact with the guinea pigs.

The year before we were also to have such a trip, and I brought Viggo to the train station but couldn’t find them, so we took off and took the bus to Bogstad, and went for a walk on a trail where we have gone a lot. We stopped by the tarn I sometimes brought my turtle Nemo to, and we ate there, and just chilled. Since we were on familiar turf, I was relaxed, not worrying about getting lost. After eating, we went to an old quarry I guess you would call it, where there are a lot of boulders and the soil is reddish, and the old machinery (like a sort of conveyor belt) are still there, rusty but very exciting. It was an exciting place when I was a child and to be honest, I still liked it there. Best “school day” ever!

OMG! A lassie dog! The offspring of those breeds are so cool. They don't even look like puppies! They pretty much look exactly like the adult version after getting hit by a shrink ray.

Yes, although collie puppies have 'puppy look' when they are very young, they lose it quickly and looks like the adult version rather soon. Or more accurately, they look like they have hit their teens, as they are more awkward than the dignified adults they will become.

Amity, that toy dog sure knew how to defend its snacks. :lol:

:( I'm so sorry you had to give away your beloved cat :(

We once had neighbors who had a cat. The parents got an assignment to Africa for a year or so, and so the parents wanted to put down the cat. Their daughter naturally reacted strongly and thankfully they let the cat live. They sent him to some relatives where he stayed safely until they returned. (When they were on holiday, we looked after him, and let him in and out and fed him. I was always afraid something would happen while we had the responsibility for him, but luckily all went well.)
I can't understand WTF the parents were thinking, though, thinking it okay to just kill him when they were leaving for a while. I don't get people like that at all. :evil: At least they listened to their daughter.

Pah! I wish. Would you believe gerbils don't even exist in this country? I'd totally be getting them instead, if I could in the first place.

Lol, yes, it gave so many of them such a shock. The ones that took off running with fright, knew that puppet meant it, good puppeteer, believable movements and mannerisms.

:( Sorry to hear that. It seems my country isn't the only one with ridiculous pet restrictions.

Oh lol, the guilty wag, the look of shame, very funny.

~~~~~~~
Earlier this week I collected my cat from the Vets after a procedure, apparently he was still sedated, but it didn’t look that way to me, the cat cage was rocking as he tried to claw his way out while we were in the waiting room.
On the way home he broke out twice from the borrowed cat cage, by the time I got home my car smelled like a kitty litter tray, as did I.
The first time he broke out he leaped for freedom from the back, crashing into the windscreen, lay on his back on the dashboard wild with terror, scratching and clawing to become free (he is an outdoor cat and unfamiliar with glass). Leaped to the back window, same routine, climbed up the back of my seat, and started clawing my side window before leaping over my shoulder onto the dashboard again. I don’t know how I didn’t crash before I managed to pull over.
I think I might just buy my own crate for such occasions.
Wow, the poor cat must have been petrified, he may have been dazed and confused from the anesthetics too.
I'm real glad something worse didn't happen, like a crash.
Adorable! And a great climber I see. I want a rat but my parents won't let me get one.
When I was younger I had goldfish and frogs. Then I had guinea pigs and gerbils. Now I have a dog named Lilly:
