The Chimney Swifts came back yesterday -- one of the best signs of spring.

snapchat is a lightweight social media/messaging app i use. a "filter" is a small image you can superimpose on another image you've taken yourself, they usually add visual effects or have banners relating to events/holidays, etc. "first day of spring" was one of them. :)

another sign of spring: winter wear going down in price.

When I went to my parent's for Mother's Day this weekend I noticed for the first time how green the grass is now. I don't see it as much in the city, but when we were in the country there were green lawns and fields everywhere. :)

We've been getting enough rain. Too bad certain other provinces that really need it aren't getting much. :(
It's actually warm on some days now. I've even started using my fans.

On-again, off-again heavy fog. For us, that *is* spring.

Last night, clear skies. Just before dawn, thick fog dense enough to prevent any chance of seeing the Mercury transit or even the sun for that matter. Around noon - just after the transit ended - clear, sunny skies.

I really wanted to watch this one.

at least there was NASA's feed. since you seem to be more astronomically edumacated than me, can you tell me if the transit affected the weather on earth in any way?

^ i really don't think it did, but it is a pretty thing to witness.

my over the shoulder jacket slinging is a sign of spring for me. the cool mornings cannot last until the noon where the heat comes in at full blast. and i can't put my huge jackets anywhere.
