Silver Bells is the first Christmas song I remember, from when we went window shopping to see Santa. I wore white leotards, black patent shoes, a green crushed velvet dress, and a red Christmas hand muff. I think I was three.
I always had to wait until my father put this album on before I could get out of bed for Christmas gifts.
I learned to know the creak of the credenza opening, and I know every scratch sound on his album.
I tried to conduct my dolls to sing this song like a choir, ^ but I didn't do so well.
One year we went to my grandparents' house in California for Christmas. I overdosed on vitamins on the plane. I was four.

Ohhhhhhhhhh my gosh Darmok -- what was that song? I've never heard that before and it made me cry with nostalgia!
That's exactly what Christmas was like for me right down to the 1960s style Christmas cards and dresses! I'm sure people joke about clichés but I loved it! Thank you so much! (This is a tough time as I lost my dad XMas Eve).
