Well, at least one member thought I was 'sweet' (and in all seriousness, I think she is too... 
). That's a lot better than being deemed 'cool', LOL.
This reminds me a bit of a period a few years ago when certain people started making threads entitled 'We Love ******(insert name of WP member)'. This always seemed bizarre to me, and, unless the members in question had been asked for their consent for their name to be used in such a thread, it had the potential to cause a fair degree of embarrassment. One member in particular had been a prolific poster until she became the subject of one of these threads, and ever since that time she has been largely absent from the forum. I know for a fact that she was very uncomfortable about the creation of that thread.

That's interesting, I definitely think of the sweetness as encompassing the whole general personality of a person than just one aspect.

It kind of makes me want to push those people away, rather than embarrassment. Hence the "Give smudge a slap" thread, it counteracts the saccharine on here for me. It is too much saccharine.
It feels insincere when I praise someone a lot too, it's something I've tried to talk myself out of cos I developed it as a habit for trying to please people. I know it's insincere when I do it, unless I know that person has genuinely helped me or tried to out of authenticity. Most people are a***holes.
