We have "corned beef hash" in the US, too.

We eat it with eggs and potatoes.

I expect a divide on this.

Is it a stew or simply mixed with mash and beans?

I like to make a stew with mine, although my friend makes hers with mash/beans.

Stew ? Never had it as a stew , that sounds weird , as a kid it was mash and beans as I got older it was more a fried potato effort

Terrible trailer though. Of course Om Puri died last year.

Monsoon Wedding is worth checking out.

I mean, where else can you talk about fish finger butties?

Or the right way to eat them i.e. with mayo or tomato sauce?

Do you toast them or add lettuce or cucumber?

I couldn't decide between chicken nuggets or scampi so I put both in the oven. No problemo. :)

fish finger butties should be with salad cream - discussion over

Any bread, as long as it's sold uncut, liberally smeared with tomato puree, plus an extra dollop on the side of the plate. The fish fingers are best cooked fried in a little bit of lard in the frying pan, until proper crispy.

I haven't had any dinner yet, that looks so good.

I don't care how it's done, I'll eat any version.

No no, it's tartare sauce! But I'll accept thousand island dressing.

Why have I never thought of adding lettuce? What a good idea!

Fish finger butties with tartare sauce and lettuce is for posh folk. Much better with ketchup and with a side of baked beans... so you dip your butty in the bean juice.

Was lurking but this talk of fish finger sandwiches has brought me out the woodwork.

My favourite - waitrose chunky fishfingers, unsliced bread doorstep slices, tartare sauce or ketchup.

Really fancy a fishfinger sandwich now but have Hairy Biker's sausage casserole for dinner instead

Ha! I just had a sausage sarnie for Friday night tea... followed by a choc bar and a bottle of vino rosado... how classy is that?

I do more lurking than posting, but this is seriously engaging...

... and sorry, Tequila, I'm strictly red sauce.
