Comparing the Karen meme to the family of "Janusz" memes from Poland, I think one of important things about the family of "Janusz" is - they are not minority by any means, they are members of the majority of the population. They represent dysfunctions common in the majority.

So, Karen can't be anything but white.

But she should have a male counterpart. Not the angry Kyle who might be her son but, you know, some ex-husband Donald who is as entitled, toxic and agressive as she is, but in a way typical for males of his generation.
i met a couple of latina karens. i feel like the name "angelica" is suitable there.
The older girl on the show Rugrats was named Angelica. She was the spoiled princess type who sometimes got a kick out of doing mean things to the other babies because she could. She wasn't all bad thou.
"Angelica" fits a spoiled princess type.

Women named Karen can’t even get dates now thanks to 2020

Quote:
Wingman, which helps hook up friends with friends, said users named Karen have reported getting few matches on the app this year than last, as reported by The Daily Mail. According to the survey, poor Karens are getting nearly a third fewer matches and fewer responses to messages in the dumpster fire year that is 2020. Wingman also said Karens reported less engagement while using the app, with a 45% drop in activity.

The app, which was included in a roundup of the best dating apps of 2020 on Tom’s Guide, said this decrease in interest has only been for women named Karen. However, women with different spellings of the name — such as Karin, Carin and Caren — have also been impacted by the dating drought too, though far less severe with a 22% drop.

Otherwise, the app said it has seen a 350% increase in usage in the US since the pandemic began

I gotta wonder ... are women named "Kamala" or "Hillary" experiencing the same treatment?

I don't think that Karen is a slur.

No one is going to call me Karen if I make a complaint... Because I'll only complain if it's legitimate and I'll do so politely without shouting, screaming insults or demanding things I'm not entitled to.

Thank you...Thank you...Exactly...[Thumbs-up]

I am Mexican-American...At present-time, due to the pandemic, i find myself below the national level of poverty...I have a petite figure...I most certainly do not fit the "Karen" stereotype...I fit more onto the insignificant "Maria" stereotype that others may underestimate...

I do have a very strong sense of social justice...I have a Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies and almost one decade of experience in the legal profession...Seven of which i specialized in civil litigation (law-suits defending the victims)...With such background, i do know the difference between a valid complaint and a frivolous complaint...Also, with maturity, one learns to choose one's battles carefully...

Two weeks ago, i could have been mistaken by a "Karen"...A local tow-truck company was charging my husband a little less than 600 dollars (for towing his vehicle from the scene of an accident to their storage facility where his vehicle had not been for more than three hours)...Applicable law states that they cannot charge more than the local police, who charges a little less than 300 dollars for the same service...So, yes, i complained...I spoke to the owner of the company, and called him "dishonest", "ill-intended", and "a thief"...He hanged-up on me; but not before realizing that i know that my husband has protections under the law...

Sadly, California takes the lead nationwide when it comes to "predatory" tactics by towing companies...They never loose...If you do not have the monies to pay their astronomical fees, the law allows them to sale your vehicle within 30 days...And if said proceeds do not cover the total cost of storage of the vehicle (locally is 60 dollars per day of storage), they can and will 'slap you' with a law-suit for the balance...Most people do not know that we have protections under the law, so most of the time, the towing companies will get-away with their predatory tactics...

Suffice to say my beloved "Aspie" husband was upset at me, because i "fought" the towing company...In his kind and low tone of voice but characteristic firmness, he said, "If i have accepted the loss of my car, why do you get like that?!"...The accident was not his fault...And his vehicle is a total loss...I responded to him..."I am not upset at you; i am mad at the towing company...TO ME, IT IS A MATTER OF PRINCIPLE"...

The next day, i drove him to the towing-truck company to recover his vehicle...At the end he was only charged appx. 350 dollars, a significant amount less than the original charge...Most likely, they reduced the amount, because i complained and because they know they are violating the law...

Voicing a legitimate complain does NOT turns us into a "Karen"...An unfounded complain or frivolous complain with the ill-intent to harm someone's employment would...I hope i have succeeded in making this clear distinction...

In brief, a "Karen" by name will NOT be offended nor hurt by the "Karen" label if she does NOT acts like one...Greetings to you from California...

Post-Script: In my defense, i should say that i am very generous with praise...Example, if i see a janitor cleaning at a school, i make sure to thank him personally...If i like the professional customer service provided to me, i go out of my way to report this to his or her superiors, so that he or she receives the deserving merit...

It is illegal these days to stereotype black people but not white people.

Although I find it quite funny, I don't think I would like it if my name became popular like this. I even panic at the thought of having a hurricane named after me because of the jokes I might receive and I get embarrassed. But my name is an unusual name, although it is becoming less unusual nowadays. (Fun fact: my name isn't Jo, Joe, or Joe90, only on WP).

I always thought the Karen thing started from memes that contained jokes, by millennials, about millennials getting annoyed by women from the 60s and 70s not understanding today's humour or technology, since the name Karen is quite popular among women born in the 60s (at least in the UK anyway).

In the name of being "woke" and "anti-racist" they are using a racial stereotype. In the so-called #MeToo era they are using a sexist stereotype. And ageist stereotypes always popular. Their hypocrisy has been pointed out enough times so that they know and don't care. It must be nice to be superior to deplorables.(sarcasm)

I'm suddently wondering that as well. I don't get why people are judging others for their names thou. We didn't get to chose our names. Well some people change their names like rappers are known to but nobody can chose their names at birth.

Florida's Ron De Santis is introducing a new "Karen friendly" rule to allow Karens to report black people to the police and get them shot.

I imagine Amy Cooper (NY Karen charged with making a false police report) will be heading to Florida now.

There's a reason "Florida man" thrives in Florida, it's a refuge for all the relics from the 1950s who couldn't cope with social changes.

I've heard of the use of the word, Karen and I really don't understand it. Why use a woman's name to describe a person who flies off the handle?

Florida is the US state with the highest report of "Karens" in the US. The warm weather might make white women even angrier than other parts of the US.
