Yeah, it is. It's been gradual over the years (it's something I note as me no well off), but there has been that sharp rise the past couple of years for some of those obvious reasons. I noticed and notice it the most when it comes to fees for trade jobs, which is why I do most things myself when it comes to house and land stuff. The cost of supplies for said trade things have dramatically risen recently too, albeit, that's manageable for me now. I also noticed it with the price of houses over the decades, and it'll kinda suck for new home buyers and the less well off that'll keep on getting priced out of things or outbid by people that probably should be a little more compassionate for others.

Heaps of well off people here are buying secondary houses out in rural areas due to SARS-CoV-2 (no idea why, as it's not 1918 and everyone has cars, so the local town isn't any safer), and houses in said areas aren't cheap at all.

Hopefully it's not bothering you [too much].

I've been driving for over 20 years, but occasionally toy with the idea of getting a "Student Driver" bumper sticker to see if it would encourage people to chill out and tailgate me less.

you'd also have to get a mannequin for the passenger seat that looks like an old retired guy [typical driving instructor].

I've been thinking about changes this past week. Generally speaking, my default position is I don't like changes and resist changes. But...changes are really what makes life, well, life. Nothing stays the same. Learning and making changes can be exciting. As exciting as white water. And as scary. But I feel better after. At least when it is successful.

the future is almost always much more than just a glorified past reflected forwards.

Chemist threw 300 dollars worth of rapid antigen tests at me for "free", even though I didn't want them as I don't need them. I don't go out all that much, so I only need a couple on hand at any given time (hospitals do their own). I guess I'll accrue a collection of something else. :? Likely not allowed to give them to others, but I'll check with the chemist on that one. The nice neighbors might want a few.
