This week one of my coworkers said that she doesnt even notice the sounds that were annoying me at work anymore, because I complained and we were talking about it. I literally do not understand how allistic people function. How do people ignore s**t like that????

I feel your pain.

The assistant manager that I asked if I could leave early yesterday apparently said to my aunt afterwards that it's definitely louder where we work lately, so I guess other people do notice it. I still can't fathom anyone being able to ignore it. All the machines are so loud.

What kind of noise was it?
I assume you can't wear headphones/music at work for safety reasons?

Pretty much everything makes some sort of noise and they are all loud as hell. The washers make noise, the dryers, etc. and yesterday the maintenence guys were fixing carts near my department so there were loud drilling and clanging sounds. There's just so much crap going on at once it's insane and it amazes me how anyone else manages to function there. I also try to wear earplugs, but I think my ear canals are messed up after having ear infections or something because I've tried a bunch of different kinds and sizes and they won't make a proper seal + stay in my ears. I don't think I can use really anything else for safety reasons, and if I listen to music I am only allowed to have one earbud in.

You need hearing protection for one thing, so you don't get tinnitus.

omg I do that all the time even when standing lol

sometimes I'll hold a strand of my hair straight up over my head for no reason when talking to people.

must be a fascia thing. :lol:

I like to squish my index finger in there sideways. So satisfying! Especially when my skin is cool!

Last night I was pulling my big toe and spinning it in a circle with MR.
