You know I have all of these, currently, and my ears have been plugged with muffled hearing since at least May, with 24/7 tinnitus since 2008, fluttering, miosphonia, hyperacusis, crackling noises even when I push on the back of my skull, and an audiology referral paper from my doctor that got peed on by Macbeth, right?

I got a new referral but I'm too sick with dizziness, plugged ears, pain, hyperacusis, and sensory avoidance to leave the house and go.

Did they give you a miracle cure?

Good. ^

I've seen ENT before, years ago, and they did nothing. I'm sure they'll be better now that I'm permanently disabled by my ears. The referral I got is for audiology which would be booked within seven days, so that's why I'm avoiding it because I'm too sick. They also offer Audiology + ENT appointments (combined) but they're about a four month wait. I'll likely just do that, and hope I can function by then. Mind you I should likely go now for audiology, but it wouldn't be accurate since I can't hear so they'd send me to ENT.

Oh, the Catch 22's.

The audiologist predicts the ENT will refer me to a psychologist :skull:

For CBT?

Maybe you need to learn to breathe, or you should stop having anxiety.

Mine:

Picture yourself floating on a river ....

Me: (If I knew how to picture anything, ever ... )

Imagine you're stood on a beach
Water gently lapping at your feet
Now you're sinking, what were you thinking?
That's all the time we have this week.

My tinnitus is like a tin can full of radioactive mosquitoes on helium mating with soprano bumble bees singing opera, with the occasional wah-wah sound of a distortion pedal and / or Charlie Brown adult, intermittent fax machine sounds for five or ten minutes at a time, and interspersed with hearing my own heartbeat and whooshing noises. With the plugged ears I get the sound of footsteps in snow, or someone scraping their snow shovel on the driveway, plus an oratorio of Snap Crackle Pop Rice Krispie sounds, minus the Rice Krispies. If I open my mouth without breathing it's the sound of a haunted house door shutting, because I can imagine that. I like that one. Touching the back of my head is like a nerf ball hitting a mesh net, if such a sound exists. The sound has a twist to it somehow. If I plug my nose and blow I hear the eustachian doors slam shut with a thump and then I go underwater like the Titan voyager, but I've yet to fully implode or float to surface. The thump is like hitting a pillow with a rolled up poster.

If I use the handset from my landline phone on one ear, the other person's voice will make my opposite-side ear pop in unison with their syllables. As soon as they stop talking my ear shuts again.

Electric shocks:
On Buspirone anxiety meds it was like a bug zapper sound or someone being electrocuted.
Zzzzt ... Zzzzt .... Zzzzt .... but my psych told me I didn't hear that so I guess I was wrong.
